Well, after 4 years with iPod 3rd Generation I decided to upgrade my self. I think that a product could never be better. It has all you need, style, great sound, easy to carry on bus or inside the pocket.
Another issue that really changed my life is the battery life. with my old iPod after few years I've had maybe 2 hours often 3 hours. Now I can take my iPod away without charging even 4 to 5 days with massive use.
The new aluminum skin is very nice, much more pleasant from the previous iPods and it's even unscratchable (it will be only if you wish so).
The software to sync your stuff is iTunes, actually any child can handle with this software, very friendly software, and you can download for free from Apple website (the CD installation is not included with the iPod package).
If you have any doubts, just don't. The iPod will be the best choice for you.

so far ok
The product is ok but the software is not convenience. I prefer just click and drag the music into folder rather than doing the syn everytime.

Comments about Apple iPod classic 80GB - Silver:
This ipod is easy to use. It is great for music, videos and pictures. I haven't tried movies yet. The only downfalls so far are that is is larger than my other mp3 player and I have had it freeze up after using the auto disconnect on my computer. It is very easy to reset though if this happens.

This I-Pod is a little big at first but does so much! I was able to load all of my audio books with a ton of room left to spare.

Comments about Apple iPod classic 80GB - Silver:
After several years of Creative Zen, I bit the bullet and bought an Ipod. It is everything positive I have ever heard about them. Easy to navigate, Itunes makes downloading a breeze, sounds great, etc, etc. You have heard it all before. I also have a dock for my Yamaha receiver which make the whole experience even better. If you are a first time buyer of an MP3 Player, and I know there are still a lot of you out there, don't waste your time with another brand...Go fot the Ipod.

Very nice ipod, my only complaint is it should be compatible with the 10.3 Apple software. I'm sure this is an easy issue but Apple loves to shove its loyal customers in to constantly buying new computers and software when the slightly older products should last longer and be compatible longer as well.

My wife and I use the iPod while entertaining guests at our home. We enjoy passing it around to our guests and letting them create playlists. We also like the good video quality, we let our 3 year old watch movies during dinner, flights, etc. It's much more convinient than the portable dvd player. I'd like to see an XM radio option and an FM/AM option.

For some reason, the click wheel is not as sensitive as the previous generation. Overall, this gen is not much of an improvement over the previous. The iPod name will ensure that it will be a big seller, though. Apple needs to remember that they can't rest on their laurels forever; they need to remain competitive and continue to make significant improvements in their line.

Comments about Apple iPod classic 80GB - Silver:
I havent used this much as of yet. I bought it for a European vacation coming up at end of July.
However, so far I like that it is user-friendly. Uploading songs, controling the device have been quite simple.
I am having a hard time finding portable speakers for this where they are not too bulky and can store the accessories.
