The VisibleDust DHAP-Vswab is an innovative sensor cleaning swab with a unique "V" shape design that has several advantages over the more common square format swabs. The narrower edge of the V shaped swab minimizes the contact between the swab and the chamber wall reducing the chances of dust or lint from the camera body from falling on the sensor while cleaning. Plus the "V" shape allows for better maneuverability and easy swabbing while inside the chamber, and allows the user to apply more equal pressure to the edge of the swab pad for a more homogeneous swabbing motion and less streaking along the edges.
The DHAP (Double layer High Absorbency fabric) used on this swab is super soft and made of super thin fibers. The fabric is woven to be non-shedding, and its high absorbency capacity makes it ideal for the surface cleaning of delicate optics. The fabric has also a unique folding design that creates a softer edge compared to a hot sealing process.
The 0.1x size is specially designed to provide a single swipe cleaning action for "full frame" image sensors.
Compatible with VDust Plus cleaning fluid.

Does not work with regular visible dust solutions but is not advertised that way.. Swabs are too thin and too soft. Left hundreds of spots on sensor. Had to purchase green swabs to clean up the mess. Green swabs and sensor cleaner fixed the mess in one swipe. Emailed VDust they advised orange swabs ONLY work with new VDust cleaner. Wasted $40 on swabs. Do not purchase unless you purchase the proper solution.

Comments about Visible Dust DHAP-Vswab 1.0x - Orange Series (12-Pack):
I had never cleaned a sensor before trying this. I admit it may just have been the fact that it was my first try but the liquid left a big smudge on the sensor with the first pass and it took multiple cleanings each with a new swab to get the sensor completely residue free. The important point is that it accomplished the task at hand; the sensor was sparkling clean and damage free when all was said and done. I suspect that with experience it would have been a quick simple sweep with one swab to get the sensor clean.

Comments about Visible Dust DHAP-Vswab 1.0x - Orange Series (12-Pack):
Prior to purchasing I had never cleaned my sensor with anything but air, and with the 5d mark ii it was always fine and clean. Then I hit the jungle and got hit with tons of dust spots that clung to my sensor. I think this was from the extreme humidity and dust while changing lenses. It was a bummer because I was in South America and pro photo supply shops are few and faaaar between to non existent. Luckily I read great articles on Visible Dust and had a friend who was flying down to meet us. I shipped them to her, she brought them down, and I went for it. I was verrry nervous to mess up my sensor, but didn't have much option, as I couldn't really send in my camera to canon in SA. So, I went for it, and in ONE pass my sensor went from post processing nightmare to ZERO DUST SPOTS! So stoked. Used with VDust Plus solution. Swabs fit sensor perfectly and worked perfectly.

Combined with the VDust formula fluid, a good light and a dust free room it's possible to quickly perform a thorough sensor clean that otherwise would cost near enough to $100 and 2 working days downtime to have done professionally. The different shape of these ensures that the swab makes good contact all the way to the corners of a full frame sensor.
Anything that can't be removed with a blower or Arctic Butterfly has so far been easily removed in a single pass.
Very impressed and will always carry these in the gear bag.
Also, once used on for a sensor pass they are excellent for giving filters or outer lens elements a quick wipe with a little extra fluid before they are discarded.

Use these every time I clean my camera. I carry them with me everywhere.
I use these on my D3S and my D300s. The size works great on both sensor sizes.

I've never had great success cleaning DSLR sensors, but these swabs seemed to work better than another brand I'd tried. One thing I learned is to move the swab slowly across the sensor surface and press down pretty strongly.

Quick & easy to use! Results are the same as Nikon can do and you don't have to mail or drop of your camera at a Nikon service centre. The cost of a dozen swabs and the cleaning liquid is less than I paid for one cleaning!
