I purchased this because I wanted a giant LCD screen, speed, high quality images, video support, and ultra-compact(ness). I wanted a real bargain because I was purchasing right at the moment when all the digicams are beginning to support HD video formats. Instead of paying $300+ for one of these just-released, "first gen" HD digicams I decided instead to find the least expensive camera with all the things I wanted, minus the HD video capability. I figure this time next year when all the cameras have HD video, all the kinks will have been worked out and the prices dropped.
In short, I love my purhcase. It was a bargain deal in my opinion and I have been very happy with the quality of the shots. The speed is excellent. The 3" LCD is essential nowadays if you ask me (think of how often people want to see your pictures or you want to review them on the camera itself).
The video is adequate at 640x480. Also there is a very cool time lapse mode; be sure to check it out if you buy!
Battery life has blown me away so far. I have not been too cautious about charging the battery every time before I go out, and I've not yet seen a low battery warning.
The screen is very scratch resistant. I think it's glass? I dunno but I'm not a fan of screen protectors so I wanted something that was hardy. I keep it in an old mini binocular case and keep it in my pocket. The black plastic around the screen however does scratch easily.
Another thing I love is response time. Not in terms of time to first shot which is great, but rather how fast the actual software on the camera runs. This was very important to me since I hate to wait for images to load; I like to be able to go from preview to shoot mode and back very quickly. It works great for this; practically no delay whatsoever.
Lastly, I was worried about not getting a camera which image stabilization (IS) which seems standard now. For my purposes, I have not missed this feature at all on this camera. I don't think IS would fix any of my (rare) blurry images which are simply blurry as a consequence of very low light and me having the camera in manual mode with a limited ISO.
Highly recommended.

Like some of my other bad decisions, the SD750 experience was cheap, disappointing and over in a hurry. The lack of AV or TV settings and the omission of IS means you will get MANY soft images. The AE is a crapshoot, generally ignores hotspots in the frame and is completely baffled by backlighting. [...] The AF is slow and and only occasionally accurate. The lens is the lone bright spot in this package. If the snapshot gods smile on you, and the AE and AF function properly and in unison, the image will be crisp, saturated and contrasty. However, after losing dozens of images to poor electronic performance, this glimpse at what Canon's lens and sensor were capable of doing only infuriated me. And then the thing broke. Five months after purchase, the SD750 declared "Lens error, restart camera." And that was the end of my love/hate relationship with this device. Bottom line, cough up another fifty bucks and get something decent. This cheap little tart of a camera will only cause you grief.

Really great quality pictures for the price of the camera. I spent the summer in China, and my friend used this camera to get some great images, so now I have it too. There's no view finder, but the screen is completely sufficient.

I have always loved Canon products and this one is no different. They do have newer models than the SD750, but there are quite a few of my friends and family that currently own this camera and have been more than pleased with its performance. Every review I've heard has listed this camera as top rated. No complaints at all with its performance. B&H Photo has always been great to buy from. [...] When it comes to camera equipment I will never shop anywhere else. Thanks again for the magnificient shopping experience.Rob

This little camera does the work beautifully. It is very affordable, has a big & bright 3 in. Lcd screen & big enough image size. It is easy to use and the features are just fine for a photo enthusiast. It has the same processor as the XSI SLR (Digic III). What else do you want?. Personally, I would not trade LCD size for extra pixels as 7MP is more than enough for a 10x13 in. enlargement.
This is in my opinion the best camera for day-to-day and travel.

great right out of the box - we used the camera to start taking xmas photos right as the kids were opening up their gifts without any complications.
Instead of the standard SDRAM card 8MB that was included I used a 2GB card that I had lying around with no problems. We were also given a spare battery which we charged while using the OEM battery to take a few photos initially. The replacement battery charged in like 30 minutes and we have yet to stop taking photos. I especially liked the continuous shooting mode which allows for several photos to be taken in relatively close succession.

This camera is great!I bought it to replace my PowerShot SD630 that was dropped one too many times. The 750 is pretty much exactly the same with a couple aesthetic differences and a couple improved features. My favorite feature of the 750 is its amazing zoom! I brought it to a football game, and the 12x zoom, which usually returns poor quality pictures on other cameras, allowed me to take some amazing action shots! I would definitely recommend this camera to anyone who wants a daily use digital camera.

I heard Canon has discontinued this model and introduced the newer one already. I was a previous owner of the SD750 until it was unfortunately lost on a trip. I tried another brand and was disappointed of the quality.
I sought out this camera again and am so happy! It takes great quality pictures and is very easy to use.
To be honest, I'm not sure why they discontinued this model so quickly.
This is a good buy if you are in the need of a decent product.

My daughter loves her camera. Her first 750 was worn out in a year...thousands of shots. I am a semi-pro with a strong Nikon lean. I offered her more expensive and better spec equipment and she refused. She would rather do without a camera than change. That is after shooting with at least four other point and shoots and my D300.
