The Bower SFD14N TTL Macro Ringlight Flash provides full TTL control (including i-TTL) with both digital or film SLR cameras. This allows for accurate exposures of closeup subjects. When shooting at extremely short distances, relatively minor movement of lighting and subject results in relatively large changes of exposure. TTL metering eliminates the need for lengthy calculations of exposure, because the inherent loss of light at macro distances can automatically be accounted with ease.

I decided to give this macro ringlight flash a try and found it be be very usefull for all types of macro photography. I use it on my D300 in i-ttl mode and the exposures and even light are right on. At 1/5th the price of the Nikon system and a complete ring strobe mounted in front of your lens, it is hard to beat.

Comments about Bower SFD14N Macro Ringlight Flash for Nikon i-TTL:
I bought this flash because I've been having problems for awhile with my on-camera flash when I'm shooting macro. When extended fully, the lens would block part of the flash. So I knew I needed to buy something to extend my macro capabilities.
I shoot with a Nikon D7000, and this works great in most situations. Sometimes it's either to powerful or to weak, so it'd be nice to have multiple flash strengths, but for this price it's hard to argue.
Overall, it's worth the money!

I use this flash ring exclusively for macro. It has just enough light to make highlights pop without being too harsh.

Comments about Bower SFD14N Macro Ringlight Flash for Nikon i-TTL:
The Bower ringlight may not be the post powerful ringlight on the market, but it does what it is designed to do. It takes great shadowless macro photos and closeup portraits. Not bad for less than $120.

Comments about Bower SFD14N Macro Ringlight Flash for Nikon i-TTL:
I am really not into macro photography but I own a macro lens. So, I thought I needed a flash but I really didn't want to spend a bunch of money to buy one. This flash fits. It's not perfect and it's limited on what you can do with it. It work well when your have your camera on auto mode but I rarely shoot in auto. I don't regret my buying it but if I really wanted to get in macro photography I would buy something else.

Comments about Bower SFD14N Macro Ringlight Flash for Nikon i-TTL:
I use this ring flash on my Nikon 70-180 macro lens on a Nikon D300. My primary use of it is to shoot bugs and insects. It works very well and gives just the right amount of light. I haave found it also very good for shooting portraits because of the even light from all around the subject. I am very happy with it.

I gave this 5 stars for macro stuff. Its amazing for macro stuff. As far as stuff just beyond macro (like a portrait), its ok but still pretty good. MUCH cheaper than buying the really expensive Nikon product. I'm really really happy with it.

You can't beat this strobe for the price! It's
I-TTL compatible with my Nikon D300 and much more affodable than the Nikon model. I like that it is supplied with enough adapter rings to fit 52mm to 67mm. Conveniently short recycle time.

Does what it should. Spot lights, with good power. I didn have to create a diffuser for it so the light wouldn't be so glaring. Wish it came either with a diffuser or naturall diffused.
