I wanted a flash primarily for indoor, impromtu family photos. I take most of my serious photos in natural or controlled lighting. So I did not expect professional results. However, if you are very diligent it is a better flash than that which comes with the canon xsi. It goes through batteries quickly. You must be careful with the on switch as it always seems to turn itself on in my bag so I have had to resort to removing the batteries. Also in a few of my pictures I can see flash vignetting. There is also about a 15 second delay in between flash pics.

Comments about Bower SFD728C TTL Flash for Canon E-TTL II:
I GENERALLY USE MY CAMERA FOR RECREATION AND FOR THE MONEY I THINK IS A GOOD LITTLE FLASH. IT`S LIGHT AND PRETTY VERSATILE. ONLY DOWNSIDE IS THAT IT IS A LITTLE SLOW TO RECYCLE.

Comments about Bower SFD728C TTL Flash for Canon E-TTL II:
this flash is great for anyone that is looking to upgrade from their on camera flash and great for beginners because of its TTL compatibility. It's sync speed is slow, limiting its uses slightly, but what do you expect from a flash under 60$? It is nothing compared to my 580exii, but you get what you pay for. It works great off camera on PW's for fill lighting
For what you pay? 5/5

I would have liked auto zoom but no more than I will use a flash I can manually set the zoom.

Comments about Bower SFD728C TTL Flash for Canon E-TTL II:
I brought this flash to attach to my Canon T2i. I was concerned when I researched flashes due to many comments about needing to program the camera to use a flash. I was very happy when all I had to do was put the batteries in, hook the flash to the hotshoe, turn it and the camera on and begin taking pictures. The flash is very well suited for my amateur photography style although I haven't tried it yet for night shooting. So far its proven to be a good product for the price.

Comments about Bower SFD728C TTL Flash for Canon E-TTL II:
Good value and gets the job done.
However, even if you are a reasonable distance from your subject, you don't get full coverage, leaving a noticeable dark zone. You need to adjust the flash and your position somewhat to get things right. Just a slight inconvenience, but not a deal-breaker.

Comments about Bower SFD728C TTL Flash for Canon E-TTL II:
I'm a semi-pro photographer and I needed a flash for indoor portraits and to lighten up faces on cloudy days. This flash had the bounce and swivel that I needed for the Gary Fong LIghtsphere. After a couple test shots, I began shooting portraits before a wedding. Right when I started shooting the bride, about 30 shots into using the flash, it died inexplicably. I changed the batteries a couple times and couldn't even get it to turn on. It seemed like a great value when I ordered but it's just not reliable enough. Spending the extra $100 and going for something a little better.

I don't have a lot of experience with on-camera flashes, but this guy seems pretty worth the money. My only complaint is the spinning lock for the hotshoe mount is cheap plastic and has a tendency to spin loose.

I put this on my Canon T2i, made sure it was enabled in the menu and it worked immediately with no fuss. So far I don't see any faults. Compared to the Canon brand it's great, may be a little bulky.

Comments about Bower SFD728C TTL Flash for Canon E-TTL II:
I am a casual amature photographer. I don't need the best equipment but I want equipment that works as advertised. After trying a couple other cheaper flashes, they were horribly inconsistent. This one, fires EVERY TIME. It's supports E-TTL II, so no manual configuration. Has a swivel/bounce head and feels pretty durable. I mainly use this to shoot photo's of my kids in my makeshift "studio" setup(basement with different color sheets and a bean bag) and it has allowed me to resolve my lighting issues I had when shooting.
All in all great flash for the money.
I gave it 4 out of 5 because the output isn't as bright as some of the others I have tried out, but plenty bright enough for most applications.

New DSLR user with limited experience so I was looking for something that would help me get better results with a minimum investment. This flash is perfect. Low price, all the features a begginer would need and nothing extra that you wouldn't need.

Comments about Bower SFD728C TTL Flash for Canon E-TTL II:
I am very happy with this flash, it is easy to use, and it works well. I use it for taking snap shots of my kids. I use it with a diffuser and the swivel and rotation seems like it will not be very durable because it is already getting weak. However, I like this flash because it is allowing me to experiment without spending a ton.

Comments about Bower SFD728C TTL Flash for Canon E-TTL II:
The flash works good. The only problem is it does not appear to be a very sturdy unit. The battery door seems to be very very thin and I expect it will not last long. It does work with the camera as it said it would. If the unit is stronger than it appears then it might be a great buy. We will have to see how that battery door works out.
