The Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) incorporates a number of advanced pro DSLR features in a compact, and very affordable camera body. Driven by a DIGIC 4 image processor, the T2i contains a high-resolution 18.0 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, and can capture JPEGs, RAW (14-bit, Canon original), or RAW+JPEG stills at burst rates of up to 3.7 frames-per-second. The EOS Reel T2i can also capture Full 1080p HD video with monaural sound, or stereo sound when using (optional) 3.5mm external microphones.
In addition to the camera's bright eye-level optical reflex viewfinder, the Rebel T2i also features Advanced Live View (with dedicated Live view/Movie button) for composing and editing your stills and video using the T2i's 3.0" Clear View LCD, which contains a whopping 1.04 million dots of resolving power.
Additional image enhancing tools include Auto Lighting Optimizer and Highlight Tone, which further improve detail in the highlight, mid-tone, and shadow areas in both stills and videos. As you'd expect there's also a 3-point Dust Deletion System and the option of shooting in either sRGB or Adobe RGB.
Videophiles will appreciate the Rebel T2i's Improved EOS Movie mode that allows for full manual exposure control, expanded recording 1920 x 1080 (Full HD), 30p (29.97) / 24p (23.976) / 25p, 1280 x 720 (HD), 60p (59.94) / 50p, 640 x 480 (SD), 60p (59.94) / 50p), Movie Crop recording in 640 x 480, and an external microphone IN terminal for improved sound quality.
An enhanced 63-zone dual-layer metering system and a 9-point AF system featuring a precision f/2.8 cross-type center point enable rapid focusing and accurate exposures. For low-light shooting, the Rebel T2i features an ISO range of 100-6400, which can be expanded to an equivalent of 12800 when necessary, and there's a Quick Control Screen that enables easy access to frequently used settings.
The Canon EOS Rebel T2i records imagery onto a choice of SD memory card, SDHC memory card, or SDXC Memory Cards and powers off an LP-E8 lithium-ion battery, which is good for up to 550 still exposures or 1 hour and 40 minutes of video recording. The EOS Rebel T2i is compatible with all Canon EF and EF-S optics.
The Canon DIGIC 4 Image Processor dramatically speeds up the entire EOS Rebel T2i's camera operations for intuitive operation and offers improvements in both fine detail and natural color reproduction. It works in concert with the EOS Rebel T2i's CMOS Image Sensor to achieve phenomenal levels of performance in nearly any situation.

This is TECHNICALLY, a rebel in size, shape, composition, etc., but don't let that fool you. The T2i is a wonderful piece of D-SLR equipment, either as a backup to a more professional camera (7D, 1D series, etc.) or as a first D-SLR for someone who either came from point and shoots, or from Film SLRs (I'm the latter). However, when I saw my first photos from Central Park, I was blown away by not only the resolving power of the camera, but also the quality of pictures even at 1600 ISO speeds, with 3200 being completely usable. There isn't much noise at these two levels; levels that were pro-territory just 3 years ago, and that will be a great surprise to those coming from small-sensor point and shoots, where such high ISOs result in noise.
As this is a camera that can shoot at 18MP JPG and do basic RAW (18MP), this is not a camera that will suffer low capacity or low-speed SD cards. To really get the best out fo it, a quality (ie: sandisk extreme class 6 or higher, or hoodman class 6 or higher) card would serve the camera well for functions such as 1080p recording, or for those times one wants a very long burst of photos. JPGs in Large / Fine are 5 to 8 MB each, and RAW Files are 25MB and up. You get a LOT of detail from this camera, and 11 x 17 shots at 300dpi are a reality. The Buffer is small relative to the 18MP / shot and 3.7 fps the camera is capable of... thus making a fast card all the more important. (NB: This camera IS compatible with upcoming SDXC cards, so it will be able to hit MUCH higher write speeds in the future)
A note of warning: the "kit" lens (i got mine separate) of 18-55 does not do this camera justice; there is just so much sensor resolution that it's not a bad idea to invest in the 18-135, or if finances permit, the 17-55 f/2.8 or the 24-70 f/2.8 L USM. Be forewarned, the sensor has a 1.6x crop, so any EF lens you put on needs to be multiplied by 1.6 (ie: 50mm lens on a full-frame = 80mm on this camera). You won't lose f-stops though in the crop, so it will still be the marked f-stop on the lens.
Nothing bad to report, loving this camera, looking forward to procuring more lenses for what is a baby 7D (it even has the DIGIC 4 processor!)

I really wanted to like this camera. It takes wonderful photos. However, certain issues were dealbreakers for me. First, I got the "oil-flinged-from-the-mirror-to-the-sensor" problem. Canon officially acknowledged this problem for their top models. Also, the manual indicates it can happen on rare occasions. I'm not happy about that. Second, there's the overheating issue and it's annoying red icon in the screen. Probably, not a problem if you limit the use of Live View and the Video features. Live View isn't useful if I can't use it for extended periods of time for the kind of work I do. Perhaps I'm being too harsh but I'm comparing the T2i with my old Canon, which is trully a workhorse camera: works nonstop for hours without overheating issues or other problems. I wouldn't mind some sort of cooling system grip even if it makes the T2i bulkier or requires more batteries. Finally, the T2i body feels fragile. The battery door looks really flimsy. There's the possibility of digital pellix cameras coming out soon which would mean less moving/mechanical parts and perhaps a more reliable Live View. I might wait for that.

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR Camera (Body Only):
I have been taking pictures professionally for about a year and a half now and I needed to upgrade my equipment. I was going to purchase the 5D Mark II, but I felt that it was too big of a leap for me. I have heard great things about the T2i, so I decided to purchase it. I went from an 8 megapixel to the 18 megapixel and I am very happy with the results. The pictures are so much clearer and the fps is much faster. I love the bigger screen. What can I say, I can't put the camera down.

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR Camera (Body Only):
The T2i uses a great 18.7 megapixel sensor that's similar, but not exactly the same as the one featured in the EOS 7D. The central to the impressive specification of the EOS T2i is a high-spec movie mode which offers full HD capture at up to 30 fps, manual control over exposure, and the option to use an external stereo microphone that I really love. The new camera also inherits the EOS 7D's sophisticated metering system. Canon has pulled out all the stops with the EOS T2i and produced the most highly-specced Rebel ever. Highly recommended product.

I have bought this camera nearly 5 months ago and have had enough time to use it. I use it with Canon 50mm 1.8 lens for landscapes, plants and insects in macro with macrofilter 3x and extension tube Canon 25 II.
It produces excellent images, automatic white balance and autofocus work great.
I shoot in raw and this is great shooting mode.

To list some of the great things about the T2i Rebel camera include its light weight, its easy access to controls, its ability to accept many interchangable lens and its user friendlyness.
I am an owner of a AE1 Program Canon camera which provided super pictures and I put the same trust in all Canon products.

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR Camera (Body Only):
This camera is super-duper. My Rebel XTi just died a month ago, and I HAD to have another camera. I knew that I wanted a Canon, and since I'm a poor college student, I couldn't afford anything but a Rebel, haha!! But I knew that I would love this one - my friend is a photog, too, and she loved hers. I shot several weddings and portrait sessions with my XTi, and so *anything* would be an improvement!! That thing was old and well-loved. But when my T2i came, there was a world of difference. Not that my XTi wasn't great - it was. But this T2i is epic!! I highly, highly recommend it to anyone except the *highest* of photographers. I still run my business and I'm planning to use my T2i well into the future. =)

For any one that put interest in getting excellent pictures, and movie you can do it with this camera. I own Rebel XTi for four years and happy with it. The only thing, it doesn't have a movie mode. So I look around what is the available DSLR that take good quality picture and video. The answer is Canon T2i. Sure you can buy the more expensive body like 5D, 60D , or T3i, but this is the best buy for anyone.

I am a long time Canon user and own several Canon lenses. I looked hard at what camera to buy to upgrade from my Rebel XT.
Bought the T2i and love it. All the features I could ever want. Seems to cover all the space all the way up to professional photographer very well and is the size and weight to allow you to take it everywhere.

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR Camera (Body Only):
I am a p&s girl. Never strayed from one. Until I kept getting tired of missing the shot. I researched cameras, and talked to professionals about which brand and model they recommended. It was a toss-up between Nikon and Canon, and since I had other Canon p&s's, I went with Canon. Then I had to narrow it down to which model. After reading every single review for the T2i and the T3 (which helped immensely), I went with the T2i, because 1...it was in my price range, and 2...it offered what I needed. I take pictures of mostly my children and my horses. And both are known to move quickly!
I opened this box, and immediately started taking pictures without reading the manual. Even the battery had a decent charge to begin with. The manual is not a big help, honestly. I have been watching YouTube videos about the T2i, and how to use it. This helped so much. Folks love to share what they know! I finally ventured off of the "Auto" mode and into "P" land. I still need to learn the ISO and other stuff, but for taking general shots with and without the flash, this camera does the trick. The pictures are clear, and the color is wonderful.
It was interesting concerning the price...I was looking at just the body, and comparing it with the complete camera kit, and by purchasing the body and lens separately, I came out cheaper than buying the entire camera and lens kit together.
Overall, I am so happy with this camera. It's easy to use and learn, and I feel like I've upped my game with it. I haven't picked up my P&S since I got my T2i!

I've had the Rebel T2i for about a month now. Bought it as a replacement for my Rebel XS as a recreational DSLR. I love this camera. It's twice the camera the XS is.
I've used the camera mainly on trips and shooting around my neighborhood and have been nothing short of impressed. Canon's interface is easy to navigate, and shooting in Manual mode is extremely easy and fun. Plus, the price is great. The T2i may not be a 7D, but it sure comes as close as an entry-level camera can. I'd recommend the T2i to anyone.

This is a great DSLR for a beginner. I almost hate to use the term beginner because it really is a fabulous camera. I find it easy to use and lightweight. I have used it in all different lights and speeds and I am always impressed. I have taken INSANELY good low light photos. I would (and have) recommended it to friends!

Our church purchased this product because we needed a crisper picture from our SD Cannon. We are using it mostly as a quality picture video camera to interview people at our church in hopes to inspirer our community.
The picture (with a quality lens) is spectacular. We couldn't be happier! The sound quality for our videos is really great. Low lighting isn't great... it gets pretty grainy. Also if you are wanting to zoom you will need a quality lens otherwise it's not going to be smooth. But both of those are standard.
Bottom line. Beautiful picture, it's worth it as long as your lens is a good one.

I use the T2i for senior and wedding photography. I moved up from Mamiya RB 6x7's and 645's. I will not miss them. WOW! This little camera is great. I bought it to try out digital...thinking if I liked digital I would end up buying a real "pro" model. The T2i is it!
