The ColorEdge CG241W 24.1" Widescreen LCD Display from EIZO is a high-quality monitor built with video professionals and graphic designers in mind. The monitor features a high 850:1 contrast ratio, a wide 178°/178° viewing angle, and a 16ms response time.

The monitor is designed for use in environments where accurate color is essential. It features a factory calibrated gamma, a monitor hood, brightness stabilization, and ColorNavigator calibration software. The monitor is a flat panel, which saves desk space. That, along with other features, makes it a great choice for video editors and graphic designers alike.

True Color for Professionals
This display features professional-level color controls that allow you to use it when working with color correction for video or print graphic design. This makes the monitor an ideal choice for professional designers and editors. The monitor features 16-bit processing for exceptional color and grayscale reproduction.
ColorNavigator Calibration Software
The included software for Windows or Macintosh allows you to perform 12-bit hardware color calibration on your monitor. It requires an X-Rite or ColorVision measurement device to function; neither of which are included with the display.
Factory Adjustment of Gamma
EIZO calibrates this monitor to produce a gamma value of 2.2. Users who require a different level of gamma can use the monitor's 12-Bit Look-Up Table (LUT) to adjust the values from 1.0 to 2.6 when using a digital connection.
Brightness Stabilization Function
The brightness stabilization function helps to maintain a consistent brightness when using the monitor. It uses a drift correction sensor as well as temperature monitoring to ensure consistent brightness.
USB 2.0 Hub
The monitor features an integrated 2-port USB 2.0 hub. Simply connect the monitor to your computer via USB 2.0 and you'll be able to connect two USB 2.0 devices directly to the display.
Wide Viewing Angle
The monitor features a 178° horizontal viewing angle and a 178° vertical viewing angle, making it easy to view the display from almost any angle.
Small Footprint
The monitor's small footprint and ability to be wall-mounted or arm-mounted help conserve often-scarce space on your desk. The monitor ships mounted on a stand that supports pivot, tilt and height adjustment for enhanced ergonomics.
Dual DVI-I Inputs
The monitor features dual DVI-I digital inputs. DVI-I inputs can receive both digital DVI signals as well as analog VGA signals. DVI to DVI and VGA to DVI cables are both included with the display.

Comments about Eizo ColorEdge CG241W 24.1" Widescreen LCD Display:

We produce print, web and cinema : color fidelity is very important to our brand and our product.
The ColorEdge series monitors are the backbone of our color management system. Almost everyone in our office gets an Eizo monitor for quality assurance.

We calibrate regularly, but there appears to be little no color shift over time.

Cons : the price. But you never know the actual cost until the day a piece of hardware is decommissioned.

Using as a second display for my laptop. Very, very even color across the display. There are no dips from other angles -- great for showing photos to others and color correction.

Comments about Eizo ColorEdge CG241W 24.1" Widescreen LCD Display:

I use this monitor for endless hours of Photoshop and calibration is critical for me. I'm using this with spyder 3 calibration and waht's really nice is that Eizo has it's own calibration software that recognizes the spyder 3 puck and does the calibration beautifully. Eizo has a preset target specifically for photography. This monitor is really easy on the eyes for hours of work. The size is great, you wouldn't want anything smaller.

Comments about Eizo ColorEdge CG241W 24.1" Widescreen LCD Display:

I added the CG241W to my Mac Pro system and am glad that I did. The only downside is the cost, although it is offset by the high quality and the ability to see what my images really look like. Users must be able to appreciate the difference between this monitor and lower quality monitors. All elements of the system must be of the same quality as the CG241W, making for a costly setup. Users must know how to make use of all parts of the system or such a high quality monitor is not needed. If you can't see the difference, don't pay for it.

Comments about Eizo ColorEdge CG241W 24.1" Widescreen LCD Display:

I bought this monitor for professional photography retouching, and it was used relatively lightly - and never moved - but died within one year of the purchase date. It it completely unresponsive and now I must ship it back to Eizo in CA at my own expense for repairs which will take up to two weeks. This is unacceptable for a 'professional' monitor at such a price point. My advice would be to think very carefully about buying a monitor from Eizo unless you don't mind being without one for a few weeks, or can afford two for when one breaks.

I was using what I thought was a pretty good monitor. As I have moved into doing my own printing, color correction on my monitor balanced to my Epson 7900 became critical. My old monitor when color balanced was showing fluorescent red lips on my subjects. And that was the guys !! When I received the Eizo, I ran a balance with my ColorMunki and the balance was perfect. Great monitor, easy to set up and use and a pleasure to look at !!

The software automatically profiles the monitor with my EyeOne spectrophotometer and the USB connection (Much easier than using the Eye-One software). I am using 2 computers on 2 screens, the Eizo and a JVC video monitor. It is so great to push one button and be working on the PC and a second later be working on the Mac Pro. The calibration is a breeze, push a button and the screen does everything auto, really quite amazing.
