Comments about General Brand 82mm-77mm Step-Down Ring (Lens to Filter):

I use this step-down ring on my tilt-shift lens with the expensive 77mm filters I already had gotten for my telephoto lenses. It works with no vignetting on my camera (1.3 crop factor). Simple, inexpensive and it works.

Comments about General Brand 82mm-77mm Step-Down Ring (Lens to Filter):

I have a Nikon 300mm f/4 telephoto lens, which has a 82mm front thread. I have a very expensive set of 77mm Tiffen Water White ND, and thought I'd try on my 300 with this step-down ring. My fear was that it would vignette the lens. But it worked flawlessly, no vignetting visible, at least at smaller apertures, which is where I want to be shooting at anyway when I've got ND on. A great solution.

Comments about General Brand 82mm-77mm Step-Down Ring (Lens to Filter):

There are run and gun filming moments that you will want a; Steadicam shot with ND filters on a 18mm lens with out having to rent a very expensive rig.

This is what I use the step down ring with: 7D on a Steadicam Merlin with a 18mm f3.5 Zeiss, a 77mm ND fadder filter fitted with the 82mm-77mm step down ring. There is no vignetting if you use the 7D.

This is a perfect product. It's round, it's got threads and it is built tough. The round part is the important part - or they couldn't even call it a ring. I'd recoment it to my friends.
