The Tokina Fish-Eye 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 AT-X 107 DX Lens was designed exclusively for use with digital SLR cameras, and combines "full-frame fisheye" (180° diagonal angle of view at a focal length of 10mm) to super wide-angle performance in a single unit.

This lens makes it possible to capture images with an expanded perspective - wider than the human eye can see - including creative deformation of subjects and sharp pan focus that extends throughout the entire frame.

Note! Not suitable for 35mm film SLR cameras or digital camera with image sensor bigger than APS-C size, (currently) fits on the EOS Digital Rebel series or 7D, 60D, 50D, 40D, 30D and 20D SLR cameras

Ultra Wide Angle
This lens enables the shooting of full-frame fisheye images with a 180° angle of view and a focal length of 10mm. Furthermore, the lens offers super wide-angle performance that allows photographer to make use of dramatic changes in angle of view resulting from slight changes in focal length.
Equivalent focal length of 16mm-27mm in 35mm format, when used with Canon digital SLR cameras.
High Optical Performance
Employing ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass, this lens effectively compensates to overcome chromatic aberration throughout the image. And with improved optical architecture and a ghost-free lens coating, ghosting and flare are suppressed to produce clear, high-quality images.
Exclusive Digital Design
The image circle of the lens has been created to match the smaller image recording area of digital SLR cameras. This ensures precise optical performance ideally suited to the camera's digital imaging characteristics.
WP Coating
WP (Water Proof) coating made of a special fluoride compound has been applied to the front surface of the new lens through the use of a unique evaporation process. As a result, the lens offers excellent water- and oil-repellent performance and makes for easier cleaning should the lens be accidentally smeared with fingerprints or cosmetics.
Super Macro
An internal focus system allows photographers to focus from as close as approx. 5.5" (approx. 14cm), giving them the power to fill the whole frame with surprisingly small subjects.
Quick-Shift Focus System
The Quick-Shift Focus System allows to instantly shift to manual focus once the subject is captured by AF.

I've had this lens for about 8 months, and I again am impressed with Tokina (I also own the 12-24 f/4). This lens is sharp at all apertures, and is just a wonderful lens for extreme wide angle shooting. From true diagonal fisheye at 10mm to a near rectilinear ultra-wide at 17mm, this is a very unique and versatile lens. Excellent color and contrast, and exceptional build quality (a hallmark of Tokina lenses.) There is chromatic abberation at high contrast edges from time to time, but I find it is completely correctable in postprocessing. I've used this lens for everything from interior architecture, unique portraits, group shots and landscapes. The lens focuses EXTREMELY close, so you can really accentuate size if you so desire.

I love this lens.

First and foremost... this is not a fish to wide zoom, it is a zooming fisheye. The distortion stays the same at all focal lengths.

However, this is the best fisheye out for digital cameras. The reason I say this is that if you are like me, and have both full-frame and APS-C sized cameras, this lens will work on both. I know it says you can't, but the way the mount is designed, it doesn't protrude into the mirrorbox like some other lenses made for digital.

I normally shoot with a 5D and 40D. Now I can take a fisheye with either camera. It may not be 180 degrees with the 5D because I can only use it at about 15mm, but the distortion is good enough to fake it.

If you are thinking about getting a decent fisheye that can work on pretty much any camera from a DsMKIII to a Rebel, this is it.

Comments about Tokina AT-X 107 AF DX 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 Fisheye Zoom:

I use the lens for both underwater and top-side photography. I like its close focussing ability UW and the FE effect topside in some instances. I am a rectilinear lens 'guy' but enjoy shooting this lens. I would have given it a 5 star rating except for its cost. The same lens sold for far less money a few years ago. However, it appears to be a solid well built lens. I would, and did, buy a super/ultra wide angle rectilinear lens before buying a specialty fish-eye lens such as this one.

Comments about Tokina AT-X 107 AF DX 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 Fisheye Zoom:

This is not only a great fish-eye lens, but it has more practical uses as well. When shooting at 17mm the distortion on the perimeter is minimal allowing the user to go from a fisheye shot all the way to a decent portrait. Image quality is far greater than I expected and chromatic aberrations are minimal. Performs very well in low light as well. Despite warnings, this lens does fit fit on the 5D Mark II with no risk of cracking the mirror. However, you can only zoom out to about 14 - 15 mm before the built in lens hood becomes visible in the shot. Even However, since the 5D mark II is a full frame sensor, you get what appears to be fisheye effect equivalent to the 10 - 12 mm range when using it on a smaller sensor camera like the 7D. I have not compared it to any of the canon fisheyes, but for the extended range it offers and significant savings in price I am very happy I chose this lens instead. Note, you can not get a circular image with this lens, so if that is important try the new cannon 8 - 15 mm L series. Another great feature is the autofocus that is lacking on many other off brand lenses. Lastly, build quality is excellent. Much heavier than expected! The only thing that is on the down side is that it is slightly more difficult to attache/detach to the body than my canon lenses and there is no red dot visible on the exterior of the lens, just on the mount, but you get used to it quickly.

Comments about Tokina AT-X 107 AF DX 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 Fisheye Zoom:

Just purchased the Tokina for my Canon T3i. Mainly using it for video but also pictures. The images are crystal clear and so is the video. The only thing I saw that was on the lens that I didn't really see a need for was the zoom. It is nice to have a zoom on it so you can adjust the distortion, but the distortion doesn't really change that much going from 10mm-17mm. Although the f-stop only goes down to 3.5, it's really good for night shots, which I already experimented with and they came out great.

Overall I love this lens. If you have a T3i or any of the Rebel series this is the fisheye to go with...

    2in1 lens! Pretty awesome!

Comments about Tokina AT-X 107 AF DX 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 Fisheye Zoom:

First I was confused about to what lens should I buy: Fisheye or Wide angle. So the salesman recommend this lens, it's like a combo lens, at 10mm it's fisheye and if you go up to 17mm it's a wide angle so it's a 2in1. Pretty good!
I tested it, and the quality is perfect, and the aperture size is also very well.

Comments about Tokina AT-X 107 AF DX 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 Fisheye Zoom:

Out of the box this little lens is one clever piece of hardware. Rugged, industrial looking and precise, but in the field the results have been haphazard. I work in nightclubs, getting shoved around, drunk patrons with no attention span, you need to get in and get the shot in one attempt. This lens will not Auto-Focus in low light at all, it just rolls past perfect focus. With about a 1/4 degree of rotation on the focus ring between a group of people at 4-6" and infinity, manual focus is difficult at best. Only solution is whipping out my not too bright DEK video light, AFing and shooting.

That said this lens has won me some friends for life from DJs, MCs and Bands and also captured some great club lighting and crowd shots (though mostly with the help of a monopod).

You can get the shot but you have to work for it.

Would try the Sigma 10mm if I had the chance.

                  The macro is amazing!!

Evaluating the image from this Tokina and from the 15 mm Canon 2.8f I have, the difference is on the shadows, where the zoom lens is not so great.

Can't believe how close you can get to a subject to take a pic & great for group shots. Fabulous lens! Once my friends saw the results of the photos/videos, everyone wanted one!

I was struggling trying to decide between the canon fisheye, the sigma, and this one. I ultimately choose this one because of the high ratings and good price along with the fact that it wasn't fixed. I couldn't be more happy with my decision. When I shoot with it at 10mm I really get the fisheye effect and when I zoom into 17mm it almost looks like I'm shooting with a wide angle. Best of both worlds! I've taken several wonderful photos with it already and I plan on taking many more.

This lens is exactly what I needed! I do a lot of Urbex photos and this lens rocks in low light! I use a tripod at all times granted, but it's great! No more worries about being able to get the right capture in tight spaces or small rooms. I've used it for a couple wedding shoots as well. Nothing rocks a dance party like a fisheye does! It's super great! You should most definitely buy it!

I purchased this lens specifially for using on my Caon 7D in an Ikelite underwater housing. I am very happy with my purchase.

The lens install is a little rough (compared to a Canon lens) which makes it a little difficult installing the lens with the camera in the U/W housing, before installing the lens port.

I use this lens for underwater photography and it does a great job.

I can get very close to my subject and still capture much of the surrounding scenery.

Super close macro function. 1 inch between the subject and the front element, real macro fisheye. Sharp and nice fisheye effect. Can be used for both APS and FF, back element is far away from the body mirro. Solid metal body. Pleasant outlook.
                                    Focus motor is not untralsonic.
