This product worked exactly as it described. Brushes worked very well, and they cleaned the surface dust as expected. The spinning brush could be a little sturdier, and the case could have a better locking mechanism. But neither of these small complaints hinders the functionality of the product.

Very handy kit for de-dusting mirrors and sensors without resorting to a wet clean. Also useful for grabbing dust from the back elements of lenses rather than just blowing it off, possibly further into the lens body.

I put together and cleaned 3 sensors pretty quickly. The product does work well, but I felt it could be made more sturdy. That being said it is pretty light for traveling and I won't go anywhere without it. It just flat out works.

This is the second Arctic Butterfly unit I've purchased. This kit was slightly different than the first. There are more accessories, which is great. The case is nice. I mainly use Visible Dust swabs to clean my sensor, but like to have the Arctic Butterfly as an alternative cleaning tool. Nice to know that I have this backup in the event I run out of swabs.

Only complaint on this unit is that it does not have the built-in LED light that my other unit has. The light really enables you to see inside the chamber. Wish this unit had the light.

The Visible Dust SD-800 Arctic Butterfly Pro Kit is a great digital still photographer's tool and one that I'd recommend as a valuable element within your sensor cleaning approach. The included variety of brush sizes and the mirror cleaning brush are ideal. In my range of photographic needs, I currently use the Nikon D70s, D300 and D700.

The SD-800 comes with a brush and brush cover attached. This attached brush works great for use with my D70s and D300. The attached brush is shorter than the other three and for this one alone, I clean sensors with it attached to the handle. The other three (all come with their own cover, unlike what one reviewer states) are a couple of inches longer and are used with an adapter. You simply pull the originally attached brush off, push the black adapter onto the drive spindle and insert the brush you wish to use. After spinning these longer brushes to clean and charge them, I then remove them from the handle to begin sensor cleaning.

The SD-800 handle is a reasonable size, not being overly bulky. I see little value in paying extra to have a brush handle with a built in light. This work benefits greatly from working in a well-illuminated setting. If not, a small LED hiker's headlamp would be a compact and useful tool.

This brush would indeed travel well, but not as it comes. Just pick a couple of components from the kit to take along and leave the heavy and bulky case system behind. For some reason, they felt it necessary to produce a heavy zippered vinyl travel case, replete with an array of interior pockets to accommodate everything in the kit. However, the ideal travel case would have been something light and flat enough to hardly be noticed if not in use.

In any case (no pun intended), this is a great version of the Arctic Butterfly and valuable piece of equipment to have in my collection.

The overview claims this kit is ideal for travel. The main problem is it's bulky: the case is pretty large. Anyway, if you are a pro with several cameras, you will probably want to use all of the kit's brushes on location. But if you have a full frame camera and want to take the only 1.0x brush with you, you end up getting all the kit, since there is no way to attach 1.0x brush to the Arctic Butterfly unit and protect it from dust (the unit comes with 1.6x attached and has an envelope for that brush only)

The build quality is poor. The case closes unreliably. Brushes have ink marks and I'm afraid they will disappear with time.

The good part is that the technology works as advertised.

We are on location 90% of the time. Lens changes are inevitable. The Nikon D3 is a dust magnet, nothing new there. We chose the Visible Dust system because the "trusted" reviews said it worked. It does work and work well. No complaints about fit or function. We chose the "Pro" kit for versatility, it gave us cleaning methods tailored to different sized sensors. We paid more than the best individual Arctic Butterfly, okay had more brushes, but we lost the light. It is important to see where you're going inside the body and without the light if makes it a bit difficult. Balancing a camera body in one hand, Butterfly in the other and a high powered LED light in your mouth just doesn't make sense in this price range. I think the product does a good job but I also believe Visible Dust could have done a better package. Would I recommend to a person in our situation, probably not. I would say get the top end Arctic Butterfly and add the brush(s) you need. IMHO

it cleans the sensor like it says.With all the brushes,I clean my mirror/focusing screen n also cleaned the lint off my lens,both sides.The loupewith the light just makes seeing for dust particles much easier.
