The HDR-XR200VE 120GB High Definition Handycam 'PAL' Camcorder from Sony gives you hybrid recording in true 1920 x 1080 HD. Record almost 48 hours of video to the 120GB hard drive or capture to Sony's own Memory Stick PRO Duo media, which also makes for easy transfer to compatible computers and printers.

The XR200V features a 1/5" Exmor CMOS sensor that captures 2.3MP video and 4MP stills, along with a professional quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lens and a 2.7" wide touch panel LCD display. These functions along with the Optical SteadyShot image stabilization give you the tools to make great videos out of all your memories.

Sony doesn't stop there though; making shooting even easier would be the built-in GPS receiver and Map Index function that allow you to tag your shooting location as well as find video and still images fast for review and playback. Other convenient tools include Face Detection and Smile Shutter technology.

• Hybrid Recording to HDD or Memory Stick Duo Media: Record nearly 48 hours of true, 1920 x 1080 HD video and 4MP stills to the 120GB HDD, in the XR200VE. You can also record to optional Memory Stick PRO Duo media, which offers easy transfer of video and stills to compatible computers and printers. And, in the event that you drop the camera, Sony's "HDD Smart Protection" prevents recorded video and stills from being lost.

• 1/5" Exmor CMOS Sensor: Sony's 1/5" Exmor CMOS sensor with ClearVid array captures brilliant 2.3MP videos and 4MP stills. The BIONZ image processor works together with the sensor to reduce image noise and improve response time.

• Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T Lens: The professional quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lens provides brilliant video and still images along with an additional T coating that further reduces glare and flare for even better contrast and color.

• 2.7" Wide Touch Panel Clear Photo LCD Plus: The 2.7" wide touch panel Clear Photo LCD Plus screen features improved display resolution (211k) for a clear, accurate view when composing and playing back scenes. The screen also rotates up to 270° helping you to capture hard-to-get shots and aiding in playback. Record and zoom controls on the LCD frame provide even more flexibility.

• 4MP Digital Stills: Capture 4MP digital stills with the HDR-XR200VE. You can also simultaneously record video and capture 2.3MP stills with the camera's Dual Record mode.

• Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization: Sony's Optical SteadyShot image stabilization with Active Mode provides even more correction for camera shake than Optical SteadyShot alone, by allowing a greater range of motion for lens shift, resulting in superbly clear video and still images.

• Built-In GPS Receiver: Great for travelers - the built-in GPS receiver automatically adjusts the XR200VE's clock to the correct time zone and lets you view your exact location on the camera's LCD map display. Not only that, but you can also tag your recording location. Tagging allows you to review and playback video and still images by using the Map Index function on you camera or PC using the Picture Motion Browser Software.

• Map Index Function: The Map Index uses the geotagging capabilities of the built-in GPS receiver to allow you to see exactly where your footage was captured or to search for and find the scenes by location.
