The Liquid 4PRE from Focusrite uses the company's Liquid Technology to deliver 4 preamps in a single housing, with each channel providing 40 classic emulations of vintage and classic microphone preamplifiers. Each channel features phantom power, a high-pass filter and phase reverse.

Additional per channel features include an adjustable harmonic distortion circuit for further crafting the sound of the microphone preamp emulations, and automatic gain control circuit that intelligently reduces the input level to help avoid clipping. Large display screens provide individual setting information, and include easy-to-see digital VU meters.

Full recall of every parameter across all 4 channels is available via 99 memory locations, allowing instant access to single/multiple user presets and/or a comprehensive means for backing up session settings. Management of these locations is executed either from the front panel, or via Liquid 4PRE's dedicated control software.

A similar Pro Tools TDM/RTAS plug-in allows integrated remote control via Pro Tools hardware and software, including Icon systems, providing all the benefits of a Pro Tools TDM/RTAS plug-in, such as comprehensive automation and session integration.

: • An Automatic Gain Control (AGC) circuit intelligently reduces input level to help avoid critical overs during recording sessions, switchable per channel

: • Focusrite high-pass filter, phantom power and phase reverse are selectable and editable independently for every channel from the front panel

: • 192kHz internal processing and high quality ADC/DAC conversion ensures every nuance of the preamp emulation is preserved

: • Simple multiple unit configurations allows for 8 channels of audio from 2 units to be transmitted over a single ADAT or EtherSound connection, as well as much larger multi-unit configurations

: • An Operator Lock Function provides for secure functioning in public arenas, avoiding any unwanted alteration of all preamp settings, including gain

: • Optional EtherSound output card allows for 8 channels of audio over Ethernet, providing effective connectivity for large studios, post production installs and live sound engineers
