• Hybrid Recording: Hybrid recording lets you capture video or still images to DVD and Memory Stick PRO Duo and Memory Stick Duo media. DVDs can be played back in most DVD players (SD), computers, and Blu-ray Disc players. Use the Memory Stick media for quick and easy emailing, transferring to PCs, printing or using with compatible Memory Stick devices. Also burn video from the Memory Stick to DVD in-camera.

• 1/6" Advanced HAD CCD Sensor: The 1/6" Advanced HAD (Hole Accumulation Diode) CCD sensor gives your video and still images exceptional accuracy and clarity with 680k (effective) pixels.

• Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar Lens: Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lenses have been designed especially for consumer camcorders. These lenses offer the sharpness and quality of professional lenses.

• DVD Recording Format: The DVD format records with MPEG-2 compression for audio and video that mimics MiniDV quality. DVD+RW has the advantage of instant playback without finalization in DVD players (SD), Blu-ray Disc players, computers and PlayStation 3 video game consoles. DVD-R/-RW and R DL compatible formats can all be finalized in-camera.

• 25x Optical Zoom: 25x optical zoom brings your subject close with clarity and no loss of video image.

• Quick On-2: Don't ever miss the key moment again! One press of the Quick On button puts the camcorder into sleep mode, when you press the button a second time it comes back on in an instant, ready to record.

• Memory Stick PRO Duo Media Slot: The Memory Stick PRO Duo Media slot allows you to insert Memory Stick PRO Duo and Memory Stick Duo media (sold separately) for capturing video and still images.

• InfoLITHIUM Battery with AccuPower Meter System: The InfoLITHIUM Battery with the AccuPower Meter System is one smart rechargeable battery. • Picture Effects: Give your video a creative look when you add Monotone, Sepia or Pastel picture effects.

• Fader Effects 2: When ending or starting a scene won't due use the black or white fader effects for a smooth, professional looking transition.

• Visual Index Screen: There's no need to search through your video or still images until you find what you're looking for. The Visual Index screen displays thumbnails on the camcorder or on a DVD player for fast look up and play back.

• Easy Handycam Button: Sony knows that camcorders can be complicated at times. That's why they give you the option to keep things simple with the Easy Handycam Button.
