The Home Cinema 2000 has color brightness of 2800 lumens and white brightness of 2800 lumens. 1

Comments about Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 725HD 720p 3LCD Projector (White):

I've had 3 Epson projectors over the last 10 years and each one is better than the next. This projector is being used in an art gallery. We have used it in a front projection application as well as a rear projection application in a storefront window. The brightness is excellent as is the form factor and ease of use. Simple tools switch easily from Front to Rear projection, and there is plenty of latitude in the keystone adjustments to accommodate any installation, permanent or temporary. The bulbs are cheap, to boot!

Comments about Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 725HD 720p 3LCD Projector (White):

I bought this projector to screen films in my home. I don't have a television and wanted something small that I could set up and take down easily.

This was the cheapest projector available at B&H suitable for showing films. Since the jump to the next model is about $300, it is worth serious consideration.

The picture is bright, though already looks a little fuzzy and dated (not full HD), and the color controls don't correct much, as is typical. Not hugely problematic, but definitely noticeable.

Easy to set up out of the box. Has a built-in speaker, but this should not be relied upon.

If you're setting up a home theater, note that there is no audio out - you have to take the audio from the source. Not a problem for me, screening off my laptop, but perhaps a consideration for some.
