This PocketWizard adapter will work for your SB-600, but I had read many reviews stating that it could not be clamped down, that it basically shorts out the flash. I have been able to make the lock functional with the adapter.

I bought it since I figured this was the most appropriate adapter to mate up to my new PocketWizards. When I received it, I also experienced that the flash would not fire once "locked". I believe that the pin that is pushed out on the bottom of the flash when the lock is engaged, is shorting out the flash when it goes into the small hole on the top of the adapter. I used a small piece of electrical tape, and pressed it over top of the hole in the adapter. Now, I can engage the lock, the flash is now locked into the adapter, and it continues to fire correctly when triggered.

Again, all that is needed: Press a small square of electrical tape onto this adapter so that it covers the locking hole in the shoe, but not the circular contact in the middle. The tape will flex a bit when the lock plunges into that hole, but not give through to the contacts.

Ultimately, I am not completely familiar with all flash mechanics to understand why this hole necessarily had metal contacts in it, which are proving to be an issue with the SB-600. This COULD be Nikon's fault. But, this is a frustrating fix to make on such an expensive adapter, especially when others are available that work perfectly fine for very little money. I will be trying this out over the next few days, but I may end up going with a cheaper unit that seems to not have this issue.

Comments about PocketWizard HSFM3 Flash Sync Cable (3'):

This cable lets the Sony HVL-60M, in manual mode, be triggered by a PocketWizard PlusX (and I assume any PocketWizard trigger) or by an optical trigger. So you can use the flash singly off-camera, or mix it in with a variety of other flashes. I only wish the cable had a curly cord rather than straight.

for connecting my SB700 to my Pocket Wizard plus III. The SB700 does not have a connection port for the pocket wizard. This adapter fixes that problem.. It fits into the hotshoe connection on the flash and then into the pocket wizard.

        Works great!

Comments about PocketWizard HSFM3 Flash Sync Cable (3'):

I bought this to use my 2x pocket wizard plus II to remotely trigger a canon 540exII master which then triggers a canon 480exII slave
This was a necessary workaround as the canon 540exII cannot operate in manual mode when it is set as a master and being triggered by PC cable. For some dumb reason, When using a pc cable the 540ex II only operates in TTL mode when it is set as the master, only when triggered through the hotshot will the flash allow manual operation.

I do not know why I waited so long to get the Pocket Wizard Sync Cables. I purchased third party brands that work fine but are definitely not the same build quality. These babies great and lock down your Flash or Pocket Wizard with a rock solid hold. Plus I find the 3ft long sync cable to be a plus. Do not hesitate spend the few extra dollars.

A Necessity for the Nikon SB-700 Flash

Comments about PocketWizard HSFM3 Flash Sync Cable (3'):

              I haven't used this yet.

I ordered this flash sync cable because the Nikon SB-700 flash can't operate the PocketWizard PlusX without it.

I do think it's overpriced when compared to similar products. But, when you're just starting out in a field, you have a tendency to go with the established vendors until you gain the knowledge and experience to go with "lesser" known vendors.

Our old ones (different brand) felt like the wire connections were coming loose so we decided to buy new ones. I didn't realize PocketWizard had their own so we went with this one (since we also bought brand new PocketWizard transceivers). Nice gold contacts, solid fit on the flash. Cord is a little long but that's not a big deal. :)

I used this hot shoe/flash sync cable on a light stand with a speedlite (this model of speedlite didn't have a port to connect flash cable). I connected a pocket wizard with cable to the hot shoe to activate the speedlite. All worked well - this saved the requirement to have a separate hot/shoe with cable port, so less connections or hardware to worry about

It's just a hotshot that can mount to a light stand with a wire to connect a PW. You could do this yourself with a universal translator and a cable (or if you already have a cable), but it is nice to have it all in one piece. Still, you pay a price for that convenience. Can't complain, though. I knew that when I bought it. Seems well made and it does the job I bought it for. I'm happy with the product.

Comments about PocketWizard HSFM3 Flash Sync Cable (3'):

Replacing older and cheaper sync cables to trigger my PW. This cable has a nice length, sure at times it could be too long, but it is better to have the length and not need it than need it and not have it. It seems to be built to last and the locking mechanism does it job well. I also like the tripod socket on its bottom.

Comments about PocketWizard HSFM3 Flash Sync Cable (3'):

TG, you saved me a lot of headaches. Thank you!
Keep it unlocked with the SB-600, or it will not fire, for some reason.
