This home projector offers a built-in wireless feature and full HD 3D video. You also have the flexibility of placing the projector in any room, regardless of its size and brightness.

Full HD Compatible

The projector is compatible with Standard Definition TV (SDTV) 576i, Enhanced Definition television (EDTV) 480p, 576p and High Definition TV (HDTV) 720p, 1080i/p 60Hz formats, with the 1080p format providing a true 1:1 image reproduction.

High Picture Quality

The projector provides good picture quality due to its high resolution, home theater brightness, high contrast ratio, vivid color, and rich gray-scale reproduction.

Vivid Color Reproduction

The projector features a 6-segment color wheel to produce realistic color depth and range.

Rich Gray-Scale

When viewed in a darkened environment, the automatic gamma control provides impressive gray-scale images which reveal details in shadows and in night or darkened scenes.

Wide Variety of Inputs & Video Formats

The projector supports a wide variety of inputs for connection to your video and PC equipment, including component video, S-Video, and composite video, as well as dual HDMI, PC, and an output trigger for connection to automated screen and environment lighting systems.

Cable Free & Easy to Set Up

The W1500 projector projects uncompressed FHD images from HDMI output devices such as Blu-ray, DVD, AV-R player, set top boxes, and game consoles without the hassle of HDMI cables and wall / ceiling mounts.

Built-in 2 x 10W Big Speakers

All you need is a power cord and connection to the video source to have theater-like entertainment. The W1500 projector comes with 2 built-in 10W speakers with SRS, which eliminates the need for hi-fi or external speakers. The SRS WOW HDTM improves compressed & uncompressed audio performance by expanding the size of audio images and creating deep, rich bass response. It also improves audio playback quality by delivering a dynamic 3D entertainment experience with deep, rich bass, and high frequency clarity for detail. Additionally, the built-in speakers provide mixed mono audio when an audio input is connected.

Intuitive Lens Shift for Extra Flexibility

Lens shift offers the extra flexibility to overcome any minor miscalculations during projector installation. All you have to do is adjust the switch next to the lens to shift the projected image up by 110 to 130% within the projector housing. With this helpful feature, you'll never have to worry about positioning the projector out of place again.

Big Zoom For Optimal Range in Any Space

The W1500 projector's 1.6x big zoom feature frees up space with an impressive range of throw distances, giving you the freedom and flexibility of placing the projector anywhere without having to compromise on your current decor.

Short-Throw Big Entertainment

Experience big screen entertainment in any room, thanks to the W1500 projector's short-throw projection feature. With a screen size of up to 84" at 6.5' (2m), experience gaming to the maximum without having to worry about space limitation or unwanted shadow puppets and image obstructions again.

3D Functionality

You can enhance your sense of presence when watching 3D movies, videos, and sporting events by presenting the depth of the images through HDMI interface.

Blu-Ray Full HD 3D Support

Equipped with the DLP technology, watching 3D movies directly from Blu-ray DVD or even 3D gaming is easy.

2D to 3D Conversion

The projector turns typical 2D content into 3D allowing you to convert 2D content into 3D images for 3D effect.

Wireless FHD

The projector allows you to wirelessly project FHD images from HDMI output devices, such as Blu-ray players, DVD players, and desktop PCs.

CEC Controller

When you connect the projector to any HDMI CEC-compatible devices, such as DVD players, activating the CEC function enables you to turn both devices on and off with 1 remote controller.

Frame Interpolation

This special mode minimizes the appearance of motion blur and judder to give you an ultra-smooth view of all the action, especially in fast moving scenes during movies and sports broadcast. The Frame Interpolation technology combines motion estimation and compensation technology to deliver smooth pictures with enhanced clarity. It estimates the motion changes from frame to frame and inserts an interpolated frame in-between existing frames, resulting in smoother and life-like motion quality.

Enhanced Contrast Performance

The W1500 projector features Texas Instruments' advanced DarkChip3 DLP technology, which projects high brightness and deep black levels by filling in the area where the digital micro mirror connects to its hinge, thereby producing smooth, film-like picture quality.

Brilliant Color Performance

By matching the color gamut defined by Rec. 709, the W1500 projector delivers colors so real, that it reflects what the human eye perceives.

Rec. 709 Color Gamut

For optimal color precision, the W1500 projector is built to match high-definition video standards such as the native Rec. 709 color gamut.

ISFccc Certification

ISF Certified Calibration Controls customizes the picture quality in any room, thereby offering optimized color performance calibration in both day and night modes that can adapt to any room's layout, size, and light levels.

SmartEco Technology for a Greener Environment

The projector incorporates the Philip's ImageCare technology into its lamp system. It brings together optimized lamp life with uncompromised brightness and impressive picture quality. Moreover, it saves lamp power consumption up to 70% depending on the content brightness level when SmartEco mode is selected.

Comments about BenQ Home Cinema Series W1500 1080p Full HD 3D Short-Throw Projector:

We absolutely love this projector. Mounted on the ceiling, fills a 100 inch screen. Works fine during the daytime for regular TV viewing, utterly fantastic in the evenings for movies or sports. Needed very little calibration out of the box.

Comments about BenQ Home Cinema Series W1500 1080p Full HD 3D Short-Throw Projector:

This is my first projector. I researched and choose the W1500. I took it out of the case, plugged it in and fired the screen on full zoom onto my textured cream wall in my media room - WOW!

I have a 50" Panasonic Plasma TV with ATT Uverse HD. My expectations were that I would get a big picture that lacked the quality I am used to with my TV.

The projected picture was bold and the colors were vibrant. I could not believe how good the picture was nor how big - 140" diagonal.

I have since fixed it to the ceiling and built a DIY screen with $65 worth of 1.0 grain projector screen material that I got online. I am building up capability slowly. I don't even have a receiver yet nor speaker system.

Unbelievable! The picture on my DIY screen is fantastic. I cannot believe for ~$1800 I have now got a final diagonal screen size of 138" (yes 11 & half feet). The colors, clarity and contrast are amazing. I have watched many different scenes. The blacks are black, no rainbow effect at all. Those low light scenes have no blocking or grain at all. I have watched sports like football & Formula 1 - all amazing.

In very high speed (lots of movement) I think I may see some judder but I am still playing with the frame interpolation settings (off, low, medium & high). It does depend on the scene and whats going on. I have not tried my PS3 for gaming or Blueray yet...

The sound from those built in speakers is just fine. The projector is mounted above my couch on a 9ft ceiling. Obviously I am missing out massively on surround sound (I am planning on getting the Audio piece done this holiday). However, I've had the projector for a month and the built in speakers are very good for what they are.

Fan noise is barely audible above low/moderately set volume (usually level 2 or 3 on projector).

The WHD (wireless HD) is pretty cool actually. I have one 25ft HDMI cable I use and while I don't have my Receiver (yet) I use the WHD module for my WD HD TV box and it works good, within a ~12ft range. It takes ~5 seconds to sync but once its connected its pretty amazing. I set the WD to 1080P 24 & it works well going through the WHD module. Move it more than ~12ft and it starts to drop out.

My media room is dark (no windows) however, I have noticed even when I have the light on that the picture is still viewable and the room light doesn't completely kill the output from the projector. I set the lamp to ECO mode too which reduces out by 30%. Remember I am at full 1.6 zoom, the lens is 10'6" away from the projector screen and about 8" from the ceiling. When sitting down on the couch my head is about 12ft from the projector screen.

One other cool thing. When I first used it I just placed it on some small step ladders. When I mounted it to the ceiling, the picture was still in the right side up mode so half was projected on the ceiling then a couple of feet down the wall. I went into the menu to select position of projector and it instantly switched over and the display was perfectly positioned on the wall.

The remote has a backlight which is handy when trying to find the right button in the dark media room. Menu is easy to navigate and contrary to a few reviews I read, I haven't had any weird menu lockup when playing with the WHD stuff.

I did take the time (after I got my screen in place) to go through and adjust the color gains and offsets per the online reviews. Not sure I saw a difference but at least I did it.

I have not yet tried the 3D mode enough to comment on. I purchased the BenQ 144KHz glasses but only tried them just after I pulled it out the box. I need to try it now things are better setup.

This projector really does produce amazing quality pictures for an excellent budget. It isn't cheap but its isn't $5K either!

I cannot wait to compliment my projector with good sound and a decent Receiver.

I would highly recommend this projector.
