  • Plate Lock
  • Corrosion Resistant and Weatherproof

The Capture Camera Clip V2 from Peak Design is a camera holstering system that securely holds your camera without the traditional camera strap. The system is made of up a clip and a quick release plate, which together can support up to 100 lb. The quick release plate is compatible with all Arca-type clamps. The clip can attach to any backpack strap, bag, or belt less than 3" wide. It is ideal for photographers who need their hands free and also need instant access to their camera.

To use the system, attach the quick release plate to your camera, clamp the clip around a strap or belt, and secure in place by tightening the two hand-tightened bolts. Your camera slides into the clip, locks in place, and will not detach until you push the quick release button to release it from the clip.

The CapturePro comes with a 4mm hex wrench for securely installing your plate on the camera and a microfiber pouch for storing your clip when it is not in use.

The quick release plate is compatible with any Arca-type head.
A safety lock can be activated by turning the release button, preventing accidental release and theft.
A plate locking-knob tightens down onto the plate for extra rigidity and for point-of-view video.
All parts are made of corrosion resistant and weatherproof materials.
The standard plate has dovetails on all four sides so that your camera can be mounted in the clip in any direction, making changing the lens an easy task.
There are four holes in the corners of the plate for attaching Micro Anchors for Peak Design's Leash and Cuff.
Material Glass-reinforced nylon, aluminum

I walked san Francisco for 4 days with a shoulder bag and this clip strapped to the shoulder bag strap using a Canon 6d with 24-105 L lens. It took some adjusting but when I got the clip settings/tensions right it SAVED MY NECK! It took all the pressure off of my neck strap but I left the neck strap around my neck incase this clip failed. It never failed but the weight of the camera transferred to my shoulder strap and I had to switch shoulders when one got sore. I would use this again. The quick release plate was a little cheap built and the paint scratched off it from the start. The quick release plate also felt like cheaper metal then the main clip and I didn't trust the plates integrity 100%. When sliding the quick release plate into the main clip it took some precision but when it snapped in you knew it. All in all I like this device and plan to keep it.

Decent product. Not great. Seems sturdy... Well made. I bought this to carry on my hip. Vertically positioned. Well.. the MAJOR drawback being that when a Canon 60D with a 2 battery add on pack and a Sigma 50mm F1.4 is attached at the belt, vertical position, it's so heavy it DROOPS -- MAJOR! Like to the point where the front edge of the lens leans (and therefore drags) against the leg as I walk. In other words it does NOT hold the lens parallel to the leg or away from the leg. And that was even after I shelled out an additional $ clams for their "ProPad". I can't imagine anyone would want to position their camera horizontally but I'll admit that way the lens does not drag against your leg (however far more likely to bang against or catch on something). Very dissappointed. Maybe it'd be good for a light weight 'point and shoot' but any camera with some weight to it (and the 60D is NOT all that heavy) it won't work that way it's shown in a vertically clamped position. While the Sigma lens is a little heavier than other lenses.. it's no where near the weight of ANY decent zoom lenses. Would I recommend this? No. Any one want to buy mine? I'll sell it to you for what I paid and I'd include the $. "Propad" free.

The quality of material is pretty cool and storng. I like this product. Only problem is I cannot use it with big size camera such as Nikon d800+battery grip+24-70...When I use this product on my d800 set it just takes my pants down. So if you are planning to use it on your sony or smaller size camera just go with it. but not for nikon d3,d4,d4s or full frame cameras with battery grip.

Essential for on the move photography

        By Sean

Comments about Peak Design Capture Camera Clip V2:

After a couple backcountry trips I grew tired of stopping to do take the camera out of my pack. After trying the capture clip I can say it has completely changed my game. Constant quick access to my camera means I can keep moving while shooting. No strap to strain my neck or sway as I walk, and best of all a very stable attachment to the camera. An indispensable system for backpacking photography.

Comments about Peak Design Capture Camera Clip V2:

I use this with a compact camera, the Ricoh GR mostly. I imagine this is much better suited to DSLRs or other cams with long lenses, but with a compact it holds the camera jutting out rather then laying flat.

This isn't a huge issue, just takes some getting used to, and is awesome for being able to attach to any strap or bely wether wait, ruckstrap etc

It's very secure and am pleased overall.

Comments about Peak Design Capture Camera Clip V2:

This is a great product. The system is well built and secure and I am never in fear of my camera disconnecting or falling.

I usually attach this system to the right shoulder strap of my backpack and hang my camera from there. When hiking, it means my camera is always nearby and ready for use.

I use the system with my Samsung NX Mini (M) with NX mount adapter and NX 50-200 lens. I also use it with my Nikon D5300 with a 50-200 lens. It works well for both the mirror less body and the larger camera body alike.

I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an alternative to using a camera strap.

Very solid build for the clip as well. The adjustable screw was a nice touch. I wish I would have bought the tri-pod plate as well. Didn't think I would need it, but now I'll be ordering it.

I use the Capture Camera Clip on my backpack strap both by itself to keep my DSLR out of the way of my hiking staff and with the POV kit to capture camp activities when out with my Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.

I have had no problems getting used to getting my DSLR in and out of the clip. The POV kit works very well with my GoPro. I've only used the POV kit with my GoPro, so I can't speak to how well it works with other cameras.

Comments about Peak Design Capture Camera Clip V2:

Always looking for that perfect camera carrying solution.

As a little background, I usually carry my Canon 6D, Sigma 35mm and Canon 85mm L around in a Lowepro Exchange messenger bag. It's been a great setup so far but the one gripe I had was how clumsy it can get constantly inserting and removing my camera from the bag.

Enter the Capture clip. Nice solid design. Comes with a little bag and an allen wrench to secure the part that attaches to the camera. The two screws tighten very smoothly and everything just feels nice. I attached it to the bottom of the messenger strap in front of me as close as I can get it to the bag. Camera clips on with a nice click.

It's been an almost perfect experience. I feel so much more inclined to have my camera out knowing it literally only takes 2 seconds to clip it back on and have my hands free. Especially nice when I'm chasing my two-year-old around the park or the beach. Now I say almost perfect due to a few minor gripes. First, the camera/lens combo is heavy enough to cause my bag to slant behind me when it's clipped in. But since it's not enough for things to fall out I've gotten used to it. Second, the clip in this horizontal orientation requires two hands to grab my camera but I feel more secure that way and it's become completely natural now. Lastly, I'll have trouble getting the camera clipped back on every once in a while but it's happening less as I use it more.

Lastly, I used it on the shoulder strap of my Cambelbak while climbing/hiking around Joshua Tree the other week and it was very convenient.

Sure it can be a little pricey for such a small, seemingly simple contraption but if it helps me use my several thousand dollar setup more easily I'm all game. Highly recommended. Thanks Peak Design!

Comments about Peak Design Capture Camera Clip V2:

This is a great way to carry your camera rather than a body mount strap. You can avoid the pain of trying to removing the camera and straps when delayering your clothes. It stays secure on your backpack with very little extra movement.

The only complaint I had was some of my packs have extra cussioned straps. The thumb screws are not long enought to tighten and close the clamp on the strap. Peak Design should include second set of thumb screws that are 1/4 to 3/8 longer. Great for GoPro cameras.

Comments about Peak Design Capture Camera Clip V2:

This clip is easy to set up and very versatile. I have clipped it on my back pack and belt so far. I have a Nikon N2020, which has the ARCA threading offset from the center and a Nikon FE with the threading in the center. Since you can flip the mounting clip in any direction, it is very easy to position both cameras comfortably.

Comments about Peak Design Capture Camera Clip V2:

I used this primarily when hiking so far, and I love it. It's really nice not having the camera swinging around in front of you when going up steeper hills. The unit is very sturdy and very well built.

I'm a bit cautious, so I use the safety twist-lock mechanism whenever the camera is clipped in, so that adds an extra step to get the camera out. It definitely isn't a problem though, and it's still a huge improvement over the neck strap or keeping the camera in your backpack.

I took the clip on my 7-day trekking expedition to Roraima Mountains (on the Venezuela/Brazil border), facing literally all types of weather and terrain. The clip's body was scratched from the rough handling but it worked perfectly during the entire trip.

The perfect backpacker & photo enthusiast accessory!

Firmly lock the camera in the "clip". I use it with a Canon 7D and a 70-300mm lens. I do not feel the weight at all compared to the factory neck strap.
