  • 10 x 24" Rapid Box Strip
  • 2x 8' Light Stands
  • Beauty Dish Deflector Plate
  • Gear Bag

The Rapid Box 2 Light Kit with Deflector Plate from Westcott is a wise choice for everything from products to portraiture. The kit contains a 26" Rapid Box Octa, 10 x 24" Rapid Box Strip, Beauty Dish Deflector Plate, two 8' light stands and a gear bag.

The 26" Rapid Box Octa lives up to its name by providing a soft quality of light for your shoe-mount flash while setting up and breaking down in a fraction of the time as most competitors. The box comes complete with a tilting 5/8" receiver stand mount/shoe mount/speed ring combo that disengages quickly from the box allowing it to close like an umbrella. The included deflector allows you to take the inner and front diffusers off and use the Octa like an open face beauty dish.

The 10 x 24" narrow, rectangular 10 x 24" Rapid Box Strip lends itself to use as a hairlight, backlight or rim light to separate the subject from the background. The long shape also creates elegant highlights on glassware and other reflective objects. The box comes complete with a tilting 5/8" receiver. The kit is rounded out by two 8' light stands and a gear bag to hold it all.

Comments about Westcott Rapid Box 2 Light Kit with Deflector Plate:

I am a photographer that specializes in editorial, commercial, and wedding photojournalism. I work on location and typically I'm there to capture my clients work, working, or getting married. Time and space is typically limited.

Speedlites are a must for my line of work. I need something quick, small, and dependable.

These soft boxes are ideal for my line of work. I'm able to get in, set up very quickly, take up minimal space, and get the lighting dialed in for the shots I need.

      PROS;
      Very quick to setup
      Quality material and construction
      Lightweight
      Produces beautiful light
      Breaks down quickly

      CONS:
      None for me.

Setup for this set is quick and easy. Great portable lighting equipment for shoots, weddings, etc. I was skeptical using my SB600 with this set but they magnify light! LOVE them!! I also really love the packaging! The carry case is perfect!!

Comments about Westcott Rapid Box 2 Light Kit with Deflector Plate:

I gave this 5 stars cause I can't give 4.5 stars. This system is a well put together piece of kit. The stands are average but work very well with the 26" octa and small strip box. The 26" Octa provides an unbelievable soft even light when used with the middle deflector and outside diffuser. I can't say enough about it. I have not used it in any other way - so I can't say how it is but i'm thinking sort of like a portable beauty dish without the diffuser cover. The bracket is genius and works and carries well. The little strip box is perfect for a hair light, or a slick paramount lighting set up and of course for a 2 light portrait shot.
I wish the middle deflector stored while attached which is why it gets 4.5 stars. Speaking of the case....each softbox comes in a nice easy to carry case but they all fit inside the larger carry-all which zips up nice and holds both softboxes and the stands. All in all a great set up for on the go shooters who want that soft even light that blends so well with a nice ambient.

Everything fits in one bag. It's easy to carry and lightweight. The faceplate in one of the lights disperses the light evenly throughout the soft box. A great alternative to carrying studio strobes and modifiers.

Comments about Westcott Rapid Box 2 Light Kit with Deflector Plate:

It comes all ready to go. Case,2 Stands, all hardware and of course the 2 modifiers.
The stands are decent and will hold the softboxes, i would not try to load up more than that. I found the stands to be a little sticky to open and close, but i guess you have to "break them in" a bit to smooth it out.
I used it on a portrait shoot and it worked great. like i said grab and go is what this is for and the case is very nice and holds it all and you can put in extra clips and such.
