Comments about Wolverine PD20 Photo Digitizer:

I've had this machine for 6 months. Its worse than a multi function printer. Dont buy it. The dust is a huge problem and it comes with no softward to eliminate. I know scanning of old photos is a problem but there is no solution to be found here

          Can't Eliminate Dust At All!

Comments about Wolverine PD20 Photo Digitizer:

unless you hate your photos, do not bother with this machine. The only thing it has going for it is speed. Yes, it's fast but the quality is not there. Sorry wolverine, I was really looking forward to spending a lot of time with you...I returned it.

good instructions.. hooked up and making digitized images and transferred to computer in less than one hour after arrival. Images, to me, are not "best" quality- but I'm still learning how to edit the pics.

Comments about Wolverine PD20 Photo Digitizer:

The units output is the worst I have seen by any product. I used a benchmarked professionally developed image to test my scan. The scan came out grainy, fine lines in the image, blurry and the colors were totally off. I played with the EV and that did work but only as expected. The image still came out poorly. I also placed into PS CS to see if I could manipulate it, but as the old saying goes garbage in, garbage out, even using PS! I would not recommend this to anyone. Not even as a toy. Shame on me for thinking such a price for this unit would result in quality images. Also seems like the sensor being used even though stated as 20MP, is very low quality or rejected CMOS Sensors out of someone's semiconductor Fab. Do not buy, you will be very disappointed.

Comments about Wolverine PD20 Photo Digitizer:

The unit has a plastic target glass. It did have a scuff on the target (glass) surface, out of the image area, when I took it out of the box. The image was dark, colors were off, and the light intensity would vary over time. The resolution was poor, it may have a 20 mega pixel pickup but the image resolution was too poor to use it. Too bad because the unit was fast and would have helped me do the job that I needed to do.

Comments about Wolverine PD20 Photo Digitizer:

The Wolverine functions as stated. My only issue is the build-up of static dust. The clear table used to place the photos quickly becomes immersed with dust. The dust is even heavier under the masking markers used for the different size photos.
Although the machine works well and is fast, all my photos required post editing to remove spots acquired through static attraction.

Comments about Wolverine PD20 Photo Digitizer:

I want to mention up front that this device is in no way a "professional" grade scanner, so if you want to archive important images -- I would suggest looking elsewhere; however, having said that -- if you're goal is to digitize those numerous boxes of 4x6, 5x7, or 3.5x5.5 family photos so that future generations of your family will be able to view them at *decent quality, you really can't go wrong with the PD20. Each image ends up around 20mb -- so it's not like it's a simple thumbnail generator. Perfect for those with a lot of photos that need to be digitized, who don't plan on making huge archival prints.
