Comments about WD 4TB My Book Studio Desktop HDD:

I'm using this drive to replace a failing 2TB Seagate drive. I specifically bought this drive because of its aluminum case to help with cooling in the tight space where it is located.

Comments about WD 4TB My Book Studio Desktop HDD:

I replaced an older 1.5TB RAID 1 drive that was failing. One disk had already failed and I was fortunate to copy the data to another drive before the entire drive failed. I decided that it is better to have two separate identical drives to store photo and video originals rather than depend on another RAID 1 drive. I chose the WD 4TB drives because of reliability, economy and pricing. Although more work is required to copy data to two separate drives, I believe the safety of the data is worth it. I have had several WD drives over the years and all have been reliable.
