      Comments about Paralinx Shield:

Does exactly what it's meant to be for. Feels like it's a 3d printed type of plastic. Thick and chunky but lightweight.

      Expensive one trick pony

      Comments about Paralinx Shield:

I've debated returning this because it's almost totally unnecessary. Since a Paralinx is so small and light, a piece of Velcro does the job, and offers a lot more versatile and streamlined mounting locations. I guess it's nice to be able to help hold your HDMI's together, but even this is dubious b/c you can still disconnect it and the female to female HDMI piece still comes out. I guess it will help reinforce the mini-USB connector and that's why I've decided to keep it. It's way overpriced too, IMO. On my first job with it on an Alexa (we downconverter the HD-SDI with a Decimator 2)...despite the mounting options, it was the most out of the way to just use Velcro. My personal camera is a Red One MX, and despite having a million 1/4-20 mounting points, I still haven't found a good mounting point for this that Velcro doesn't do better and more out of the way. I'm only keeping this b/c I'm pretty paranoid about non-professional, non-locking connectors like HDMI. I'm used to LEMO and Hirose connectors, but the Paralinx is such a reasonably priced wireless solution, it was worth taking the step backwards into HDMI.
