Comments about Pyle Pro Heavy-Duty Steel Quad-Support Bookshelf/Monitor Speaker Stands (Black, Pair):

Not sure where the quad support is since there are only two posts per stand. Also, not sure these would be good for large bookshelf speakers as described as they are not too big.

The idea is great but the bolt slightly high especially they would show 4 bump on top side. The surface is not flatdown.

Solid pair of stands. The stands were easy to put together and are just the right size for my Boston Acoustic A-60s.

                      Heavy Duty is an understatement

Comments about Pyle Pro Heavy-Duty Steel Quad-Support Bookshelf/Monitor Speaker Stands (Black, Pair):

I purchased these stands to bring my HS5s up to the right height as my editing desk doesnot have any risers.

First impression: This box is heavy! Yes, these stands are all steel and very robust. How robust? They support my weight (230lbs)

At first, when I started assembly, I thought they were terribly over engineered. The attached system for the legs seems unecessarily complicated. Turns out, they are pretty genius. You have two small tubes that, when tightened, expand off each other to grip the tube legs. While other stands have a nut welded in the tube and you only have to screw into it, these are more work to assemble and tighten.

Here's the genius part. Since there is nothing special about the tubes/legs, you can cut them to size. Any length down to 6 inchs. They are 11 2/3 inches in the box. Even after customization of the leg height, the strength of the stands remains. You could also buy longer tubes if you wanted increased height.

They also come with short spike feet for use on carpet or other uneven surfaces.

Honestly, these are the best stands I've ever used. The only thing that would make them better is if they were made from aluminum or composite. That would make them lighter. I'm sure the cost would quadruple.

The only downsides other than weight, would be the mounting screws aren't flush with the top plate. They come with two small strips of foam padding, but your speakers might still sit up on the screws instead of the flat top if you're not using iso pads (which I am). Lastly, the base doesn't have any rubber feet. If you are setting them on a desk, they will scratch the surface. So buy rubber pads for the base.

If you need really solid stands for your expensive monitors and don't mind cutting the tubes for your length, buy these stands.
