I love this film scanner. It's compact, easy to use and does an amazing job at digitizing just about any film media. Some people have complained of lack of contrast or brightness, but if you read the instructions prior to using and adjust the scanner properly it will give you amazing results. If the pictures are still lacking contrast or brightness, it's probably the negatives that are at fault. You can still correct this with any good photo software. I recommend this product to anyone who wants to digitize their negatives or slides without spending a small fortune. I love that you can even take snapshots out of super 8 mm movies. You can also do it with regular 8, 16 and 35 mm movies with a regular photo software for cropping.
At 20 megapixels the quality is amazing. Much better than a paper print. You can see a lot of detail you never saw before. Enjoy!

I bought this scanner, which practically speaking isn't a scanner,so I can digitize most of my 35mm film negatives (Black & White/Color)and slides. It is very user friendly and fast, But! The big BUT is that it crops down your image. A large area is being cropped when you place a negative in the "negative Adapter" and it is awfully frustrating because theres plenty more happening in the edge of the image that makes the image unique. Also, It produces good results with black and white negatives and slides but when you try to scan color negatives, the colors are really unnatural and the built in adjustments won't make them look any better.

Buy this Item if you have old black and white film to scan and try to scan without the adapter because the adapter raises the film closer to the lens and you're basically causing the image to be cropped. You can crop the image your self in editing software.

Using to turn my 35mm slides to digital, does pretty good some of the pictures come out looking old. I am still working on figuring out the settings for the lighting etc. Not a fast process.

For converting a stack a slides or negatives this little unit is fast and compact. The controls are fairly simple if you are even the least bit tech savy. You have the ability to control the light and color intenisty that is transfered to you digital image. It is a little clumsy to use but it does work fairly well.

As mentioned in the description, it is very easy to scan. I could scan a lot of negatives quickly. In built storage capacity could have been increased thus avoiding the use of external SD card.Very good scanner for those who have to scan a lot of negatives.

I ordered this product to scan some very old slides of my grandfather's and the quality is as if they were the originals.
The only thing that is troublesome is the ability to keep the slides in the original paper frame; it's a little thick on some but still goes in the scanner. I just have to help it along.

Comments about Wolverine Super F2D 4-in-1 Film to Digital Converter:

I bought this product with the intention of scanning negatives to upload to stock photography websites. I have been able to scan negatives to my computer and successfully upload images to a stock photo website. So, that tells me that the size and quality of the scan is at least acceptable to the website that reviewed it. The only frustration that I have encountered so far is dust either on the negative itself or on the glass inside the machine. The sales rep who suggested this product did warn me about dust interfering with image quality, but it is frustrating to pinpoint where the dust is. The Wolverine comes with a brush for cleaning the glass inside the machine and it is necessary. The brush seems to do the job for now, but I've only been using the product for about a month and worry about cleaning inside the machine in the future if it ever does get especially dusty or smudged since there is no real way to get inside the machine.

Bought this to replace an older model. Well worth it! Scan quality is very good, not high but perfect for many scans. I scanned 8000 negatives in a short time. It includes directions, but I was scanning before I read them! Very easy to use.It scans 35mm negatives and slides, 110 and 126 film and super 8 too. My only regret is not getting the wolverine scanner sooner!

I will use this product to scan 35mm motion picture film. I ordered the first one from somewhere else and it turned out to be defective - the scans were blurry and not like the ones that I've seen online. I called the manufacturer and they said there is a focusing stage that happens in the factory and it's done manually and that someone may have screwed up. I have not yet opened this contraption, but I plan to. I'm interested to see if this focus mechanism is accessible. In the meantime, this second one that I bought from B&H seems to work much better.

It is rapid and captures a huge image although the resolution of 4196 ppi was confusing.
I suggest this be used with a Adobe or such color correction programs as most images tended to be quite blue (B&W negs) and slides. Used PShop rather than the converter.

One item was missing from the package; B&H and Mfr. jumped immediately on the problem. Splendid responses.

First this is a copier, not a scanner. The copied images are "soft" with so-so color accuracy which is not true. B&W is better. It has a hard time dealing with high contrast especially in shadows. It is fast and easy to use and no computer is required. You can just sit at a table and copy your slides negatives etc. as you watch TV. The 3 seconds compared to 3 minutes with a scanner is sure an advantage. Also it only does j-pegs and not tiff's so it is great for fast copying large amounts of images at OK quality to share with the family and friends. If you need archival or accurate copies you will need to go with a dedicated scanner like a Pacific Inage or Plustech. Also a flatbed like a Epson 500 or 700 series do a good job.

I wish it can also scan 120 films.

I wish it can display the picture on PC monitor before converting.

When I stumbled upon some old family slides from the 1950s I was excited but daunted. Should I try to convert them myself or pay to have it done? A little research lead me to this website and the Wolverine converter. I'm so glad! It's so intuitive you don't have to read the instructions. In literally seconds I was converting slides into digital images and viewing them on my computer screen. Well worth the price.

I use this product mainly to convert slides to digital images. The unit itself works great. It scans quickly, the images is sharp, bright and clear and transferring to my computer could not be easier. However, the adapter for loading slides is cheap and flimsy. I am sure I'll be ordering a couple of spares, because I don't expect it to last very long. Standard slides in cardboard frames do not fit very well and it is difficult to push them through.every couple of slides, I have to removes the adapter, open it up and un-jam the slides.

This product is very easy to use. I bought it hoping to covert old Kodak Advantix film to digital. There is not a tray specifically made to convert this film, however after contacting customer service at Wolverine, was instructed to use the negative tray and insert the film through that. Have to hold the film in place and adjust it often, time consuming but worth the hassle in order to convert this specific film to digital. For the price, very well worth the hassle! Does a great job and works a lot easier with intended formats.
