The Zacuto Z-Focus V2 is a follow focus mechanism that clamps onto 15mm rods. The clamping designed lets you quickly add or remove the follow focus without having to slide it on from the front of your rods. This is particularly useful when using setups with rod mounted matte boxes. The Z-Focus V2 can be used on either side of the camera and has a reversible gear box function for use with Nikon and Pentax lenses.

The Z-Focus V2 comes standard with a 0.8 pitch, 1 3/8" diameter gear. The gear can be flipped to the front or back of the unit to accommodate shorter lenses. It also features a standard accessory port for Zacuto, Chrosziel, or Arri follow focus whips and speed cranks and a removable, conical marking disc to create distance marks for repeatable focus pulls.

    Comments about Zacuto Z-Focus V2:

Feels very well made with "0" play/backlash in the gears. Easy to reverse the direction of the rotation with NO TOOLS in just seconds. I personally like the direction of focus to be as talent is walking away from camera I turn the focus knob toward the talent and when they are walking toward the camera I turn the focus knob toward the camera. With the Zacuto FF V2 you can change the directing in seconds! I did a job as 1st AC on B Cam and then helped as 1st AC on A Cam. B Cam had the FF on the bottom 15mm rails and A cam had the FF on the top 15mm rails so I had to quickly change the direction the FF knob turned when I put the FF on the top rails of A Cam. No one was waiting on me! I tried the RED ROCK Black FF and it was nice but the Zacuto Z-Focus V2 is better (you can change direction on the Black but you need tools and it takes time in the field. It can handle big cinema lenses with no problem. The 15mm quick release on the FF is very nice and easy to use.
