The NX30 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS Lens from Samsung is an interchangeable lens camera that provides the benefits of a larger DSLR camera in the compact, lightweight body of a mirrorless system. It combines a 20.3 MP APS-C CMOS sensor, with the DRIMeIV image processor to deliver high-quality imagery, 9 fps burst shooting, and Full HD 1080/60p video capability. A standard ISO sensitivity range of 100-25600 allows you to shoot photos in extreme low-light conditions.

The electronic viewfinder is tiltable 80° upwards, which will enable you to shoot at low angles while still looking through the viewfinder. For an alternate viewing method, menu navigation, or to review your shots, the NX30 has a 3" AMOLED touch display. With a 720 x 480 resolution, and 1,037k dots, the display can swivel horizontally 180° while rotating vertically 270°.

Intuitive sharing features such as Tag & Go, Photo Beam, and MobileLink are made easy with the NX30's built-in NFC and Wi-Fi capabilities. You can instantly share your photos through Dropbox, and AutoShare. Remote Viewfinder Pro allows you to control your camera remotely from your smart device.

The included 18-55mm lens features Samsung's i-Function technology, which puts a button on the lens that unlocks the manual adjustment of several settings. Choose from the shutter speed, aperture, exposure value, white balance, and ISO, and then turn the ring on the lens to adjust your selected parameter. Optical image stabilizer and fast autofocus help deliver clear, sharp imagery.

Included with the camera is Adobe Lightroom 5, as well as iLauncher.

NX AF System II provides fast and accurate autofocusing.
The Tag & Go function lets you tag and share images quickly and easily by pairing the NX30 with NFC enabled smart devices.
Photo Beam is a feature that transfers images or videos to a smart device by simply touching the two devices together.
With MobileLink you can select multiple images to send to up to four smart devices at one time, removing the need for others to take the same photo with their own camera.
OIS Duo technology combines the optical and digital image stabilization, to provide smooth and steady video clips.
While recording Full HD Video, the NX30 captures stereo recording, and can also support a standard 3.5mm microphone for improved audio quality.
You can stream Full HD 30p videos directly from the NX30 through its HDMI connection.
Two dedicated custom modes can be accessed on the mode dial, allowing you to store your preferred camera settings, and retrieve them quickly, while ten additional settings can be stored on the camera.
Samsung's i-Function enables one-touch access to camera settings such as shutter speed and aperture. i-Function Plus allows you to reprogram existing buttons to your preferred settings.

Comments about Samsung NX30 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS Lens:

EVF is quite small (compared to e.g. similarly priced Olympus E-m10 and likes). Also, diopter adjuster just can't help me get the sharp picture (I need 0 and it works perfectly on every other camera I had). In fact, even the numbers shown in EVF are not sharp. On top of this, neither it adds gain or increases the fps in low light which makes it really hard to see the image. Don't remember the gain and refresh rate in Nex6 but certainly it's got much better EVF. What I remember is Fuji X-E1 which has EVF light years ahead of this one, making me see in the dark with such a great EVF.Second major thing is Autofocus. I don't know how much light it needs to use Phase Detection. Under evening indoors light or morning not so bright conditions it uses CF which is simply horrible. It hunts a lot and software fails the lock even when in focus. I can actually see the image coming into the focus but the camera continues to hunt. Horrible AF software. On top of that, I see the AF simply misses even if it locks on subject (Subject is not as sharp as it should be). Maybe the software has a bug and it locks few inches from the subject (will need to test more).Picture preview shows the bare picture only and I can't put the histogram there. That means I always need to press Play to see the picture. On top of that, when shooting using EVF and you move back to see the image on LCD, the preview goes away and the camera is in shooting mode again. This is the ultimate failure - even if not important enough it tells you the camera was never evaluated by anybody who can call himself a photographer. There is no way to quickly adjust Flash compensation. This is ironical given all the "customization" buttons that I just can't assign to what I want. There is iFn+ mode (that drops iFn mode) that lets you assign three buttons. But things you can assign are nothing useful. On top of that, iFn+ mode is actually iFn hold + additional button. So, there was no reason not to have original iFn functionality (press and release)even if iFn+ is enabled, yet it's not there.Very messed-up controls. E.g. type of AF (CAF, SAF etc) vs fancy AF stuff (touch, face detection) are all over the place and I don't even see those in the menu - depending on the shooting mode you'll have one menu accessible from main screen one menu accessible from Fn button etc. Then in the same shooting mode it might be on the LCD or not...Overall, there is just too much fiddling - if confused how to execute this camera, they were supposed to do what Olympus did with their Super Control Panel - all your shooting info is at most three clicks away. Not ideal but no reason for Menu digging anymore...I don't quite see a single usable thing Samsung took from either Fuji, Olympus or Pentax... While Samsung actually did something on their own, iFn for example, it simply is not good enough. Sony RX100 has Fn+Control Ring thing that works better than iFn. I thought it's bad but now I started appreciating it. In fact, even the cheapest and dirties buttons assignment I've ever seen (Sony Nex 3N - right button lets you assign few functions) is better than this.Where this camera shines is the LCD and flash recycle. LCD is 3:2 and matches sensor so it really offers a good preview of your shoots. On top of that, flip LCD and fast flash recycle time makes this camera almost ideal for my needs - waist level kids shoots. More than half of my shoots are w/ flash, looking at LCD under some angle. Horrible cameras from Sony (16:9 200nit dim LCDs on Nex6, recycle time of 5 sec on RX100 and extremely weak flash on Nex) just don't offer anything that suits me. However, Rx100 MK3, with its much improved flash recycles time, might be my final choice (I am trying to find a good Wifi camera - Rx100 works because it's small, NX30 is in the game because it's light).Overall, NX30 is a good camera for $. I really don't see what why should it cost more. given there is Olympus E-M10 (or even Fuji X-A1 since this one has unusable EVF anyway)

If you plan to use the external 3.5mm mic jack for any reason, DO NOT PURCHASE this camera. There is a loud hissing sound on videos recorded with this camera whenever an external mic is used and connected through the 3.5mm jack. You can search for this issue on YouTube and hear for yourself.

Full manual control, a lot of fun shooting modes, connected 4G LTE network at all the time with T-mobile for paying just extra $ per mo. for 5GB data on top of my mobile phone plan.(it can bus used as a hotspot creator)it is a mirrorless camera, you get: mail,GV(hangaroud text and call), regular text, internet connection as your second smartphone like a galaxy S5 smartphone. Evrything what you take photos with it can be uploaded wirelessly to such as dropbox, picasa etc. More than anything it shoots amazing photo. Folks Canon and Nikon are not the only camera you always consider to get, don't prejudge, just try it out at local @ stores how good it is, It is a game changer to me I won't go back.

Comments about Samsung NX30 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS Lens:

Churned through many cameras since getting in to digital interchangeable lens cameras 2 years ago (Olympus E-PL5, traded for an E-P5, then a Nikon D3300 along side a Samsung NX300 and many, many lenses). All were able to capture images to my satisfaction, but the NX300 stood above with features for money and where ancillary functionality came in to play. Bought mainly on price and sensor size to fill a need for a portable camera surprisingly it became my go to camera. Not only did the NX300 win standard feature set bingo it brought unique features like expanded, fun to use on board filters, slomo/fastforward video built in, robust built in WiFi and NFC functionality (No $ WiFi dongle wart required. Nikon, I am looking in your direction), articulating and responsive touch screen, etc.So when the NX30 went on sale it was a no brainer for me. I typically like to test drive a camera before purchase, but no local store carried it. Fortunately the NX300 gave me the confidence to push the button and I am glad I did. The additional features are very nice, like a fully articulating screen and END, 1/8000 shutter speed , digital video stabilization, time lapse interval photos, added buttons, full manual controls from phone app, custom on dial presets, etc.Have not had opportunity to go for a dedicated trial run, but attached are some random shots throughout the day.

Comments about Samsung NX30 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS Lens:

Nice ergonomics in terms of the grip and button placement. EV +/- button can be hard to feel with right thumb, but rest of buttons are well placed with good tactile feel.
The 'drive' dial has crisp feel to it and allows easy switching between single shot, burst, self-timer and bracketing. Awesome bracketimg features for DOF, Exposure (highly variable for HDR) and WB.
The i-Fn menu system is great as is the main menu system. Fast capture bursts work very well.
Battery life seems good...bought two 3rd party batteries for it as well.
Very pleased with results. Luminance noise is a little more than expected at 1600 ISO but easily resolved in ACR or Lightroom.
Highly recommended. I use with 18-55 OIS lens and the 10mm Samsung Fisheye.
              Very pleased.

Comments about Samsung NX30 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS Lens:

I recently bought it sight unseen from B & H. It has not as yet been released in Australia. It is vast improvement on the NX10. I take photos of birds, as a hobby - not big deal stuff but enough to enjoy. The 200mm i lens suites me fine. The response is great, which I compare to the NX10 which I was also happy with, but was extremely slow - to be fair was the first of the Mirrorless ( I think) An added bonus is 'peaking' which is really great, as I find that it is not always easy for the automatic focus to zero in on birds in vegetation. Only negative so far is Adobe Literoom 5. They say it is free. But it does not come with registration numbers, and when I try to open it says 30 days trial and wants me to buy a copy - misleading? 30 days free? or am I not understanding something? Oh yes the 'grip' is also great. I was out in the bush this morning and the camera felt really comfortable in my hand.
