Comments about Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II DX Lens:

It comes with D3300 and to my surprise it's one of the best Nikkor I've ever had. It's very compact and lightweight but very very sharp. The only drawback is distortion on the wide end that still can be corrected in post. I end up using this little gem on my D810 as the walk-around.

Comments about Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II DX Lens:

It's my 'walk around' lens. I used my 18-105 lens before that, but the pictures don't come out as clear as I would like them to be, unless I use a tripod. If I use a tripod, I might as well use my 300 mm lens. That is why I bout the 18-55 mm one and now my pictures are just gorgeous.

First, and only DX lens I have ever had. Have owned Nikon FX lens for years and used on DX cameras. Recently purchased 7100 to back up my 800E and purchased this lens to leave on 7100. Like this normal zoom range for walk about shooting. Like this lens a lot.

Great wide angle-zoom lens for price

Comments about Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II DX Lens:

I bought this lens to have a widest angle lens than my 35mm f/1.8 DX, and it has been phenomenal for that purpose. I'm starting to do real estate photography and this lens is great when in a home taking photos allowing more of the room to be seen.

The wide angle allows me to get better group shots. Light weight and great for portrait shots is why I choose this product. I like the new locking in place when you are not using it.

Comments about Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II DX Lens:

I bought this to replace my usual lens which is the AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED lens. I wanted the VR and decided to spend the extra bucks on the VRII (latest incarnation). First off, the lens feels a lot more solid and better made. I give it 4 stars (not 5), but not because of the optics or VR. The lens is still made with a plastic mount, but for the price, I am not surprised. I have used the lens in various test situations and although the internet ratings were so-so, I find the lens quite sharp and more than adequate for the price. Feels a lot more "solid" than my other lens. Also, I was very disappointed in Nikon for not including the lens hood which I had to pay an extra $[$]for. Lens is light and easy to use. VRII excellent. Optics are Very good. Build quality very good (for this type of lens). Did not notice any lens creep, zoom was quick and solid.

Comments about Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II DX Lens:

I purchased this lens to replace my original kit lens which was a 18-105mm. I was looking for a lens that was more compact and would allow at least a reasonable zoom range. When I saw this lens I decided to order it. It's met all the requirements I was looking for. It's compact. Of the 200 shots I've taken so far it looks to be as sharp if not sharper than the 18-105mm. When I get back home from traveling I'll take a closer look at the sharpness. The zoom range has been perfect for me since I tend to shoot most of my photos at the wider end of the zoom range. The few times I wanted something longer 55mm was just the right length. Some of the reviews I read mentioned that the autofocus wasn't fast. I haven't found that problem but most of my subjects are stationary. My only slight reservation is in the build quality. While the lightness is a plus it would be nice if it had a metal lens mount. Time will tell how long it holds up.
