This little miracle gives you ideal tabletop height angles for interviews or cool low angle ground shoots with your 3-pounds or less video DSLR. Adjusting the tilt between shots is very easy. "Large" is a finger of speech-- when this baby is folded it slips into a side pocket of my camera bag.

Its three sturdy friction-drag legs adjust to any angle for leveling on uneven surfaces, and they fold under for flat pack. It's the IKEA of light camera mounts- they'd call it "Flatscromp" or something. (An even smaller version is available for superlight DSLR's.)

For me the only drawback is the supplied tripod screw, which requires a coin like a quarter to turn. I sacrificed perfect flat-pack foldup by replacing it with a friendlier 1/4"-20 thumbscrew -- although I did have to mill some of the shank with my Dremel to allow sliding in the slot, to balance the camera. Most folks will keep the supplied flat screw. And although it covers the battery door on some cameras, even more users will leave the Pocket attached to the camera when stored! It's that innocuous!

Uncle Loren's special WTO rating-- Well Thought Out.

The specs do not provide the overall dimensions of this tiny tripod. It's much smaller than other reviews imply. While it will hold the weight of a DSLR, it will not support a DSLR with a lens of any length, and certainly not a zoom extended. The lens shifts the center of gravity forward and tips the tripod. It's a very clever device, but too small for a DSLR IMHO. I believe Manfrotto could make an XL model that would still fit in a pocket, but would have enough leg extension to support a DSLR / zoom lens combo.

I use this little guy to support my fuji xt1 for the most part. But it is strong enough to support my D800 and 24-70.

Currently using on a Nikon N1 camera. Have not tried on a heavier camera yet, but it appears solid and adaptable to different units. Compact enough to slip in a pocket or leave attached in its folded configuration. Very clever design that easily adjusts.

...if you're caught without a tripod and want to do a long exposure with a small digital camera. Some leveling is possible with the three adjustable legs. Would easily slip into a small camera bag. Don't leave home without one!

Great little tripod for video or small dslr cameras. My Nikon D600 with a 24-85mm was too heavy for it but my Sony video camera liked it.

Don't be fooled, it's not a end all tripod, it's a nice little spider pod to prop for some quick shots or to place a camera in small areas that a larger tripod would not fit at all. Great for candid shots or natural shots where the gear needs to melt into the surroundings.

I like the idea of having something small like this when traveling where if I just need that little extra stillness. Very fast to set up and take apart. Not for every situation but if you don't want to carry a larger heavier tripod then it is great. Easy to lose though if you don't attach it to your camera bag.

This is much better than I expected. It's solid as a rock, built like a tank but small and light enough to go into a pocket. It fits anywhere.
I sort of bought it on a whim, but am very impressed. It's a keeper in my gear bag.

Comments about Manfrotto Large POCKET Tripod (Black):

I bought to use as a larger base for a small time-lapse camera that I own. The tripod is smaller than I had expected, but still sufficient for my use.
It is well constructed, and barring any heavy crushing forces or losing it, I'll have this thing forever.
