Comments about Dell 64GB Venue 11 Pro 10.8" Tablet:

If I could give this tablet zero stars, I would. I so badly wanted to like this tablet and the accessories. I wanted to use the tablet for ITunes so I could update my IPOD wherever I was, for email and internet, generally for any computer work while traveling, with little investment in weight and bulk in my bag. I wrote a review a little while after I got it and thought I was going to like it, especially if I got the stylus made by the same company particularly for this tablet. The touch interface was almost impossible and slow to react. I thought the stylus would be the charm because I SO wanted to like this tablet. I eventually found that the only thing great about it is the bright display, the light weight, and the fact that it can be used as a computer, with Office, ITunes, etc, and has a full-sized USB port. As I used it, I learned to hate it. The stylus was not the charm. It was spurious and sporatic and didn't want to highlight or point at what I pointed at and then quit after a month altogether. It had no effect on the tablet at all then, not even as a pointer. The tablet itself, using your finger, is so aggravating and non-responsive, I stopped using it altogether and have been carrying around my full sized laptop instead. About 50% of the time, the mini-SD card would not boot up with the tablet or would disappear and I'd have to restart the tablet to get it back, losing anything I was working on. I asked B&H to take it back, PLEASE, but they refused because it had been more than 30 days. I wrote the request for a refund on the tablet because I was out of town when I made the final decision that I could no longer tolerate such a piece of junk, and it took me 3 times to get it written because the message kept disappearing. I refuse to use it anymore. I'm going to reset it and give it away to a church or charity, and just forgot about the all the money I spent for the tablet, the extra 64GB memory on the mini-SD card, and the stylus. It's certainly not money I can afford to lose, but my sanity and productivity is more important. This tablet is that aggravating and annoying and non-responsive. If I were looking for a tablet again, I'd run very fast from this one. It hasn't evolved yet.

              Exceptionally built, thanks to Dell.
Processor and memory only for basic tasks, especially on low battery.
              Painful screen dimming.
Windows 8.1 is so far the worst OS ever made by humans. If you can deal with it, it is ok, otherwise get something else.

Comments about Dell 64GB Venue 11 Pro 10.8" Tablet:

I've only had the tablet for a couple of weeks so I only gave it 4 stars since it hasn't really proven itself with time. But so far, so good, as soon as I get used to the keyboard, not having a mouse, etc. Ordered the stylus so that'll help. Lots of battery power. I like that it's Windows based and I can install programs like Itunes and Office (Home and Student comes with it). I can treat it like a small computer - print from it, transfer docs to it for when I travel, install ITunes and sync my IPOD. There are no other tablets, including IPAD, of all things, since it's an Apple product like the IPOD and ITunes, from which one can sync their IPOD. Doesn't make sense to me! But this one you can. I put ITunes on the 64GB hard drive, but bought the 64GB mini-SD card which installs seamlessly into its own port on the tablet to put my music on so I won't take up the rest of the hard drive space with the music. I had to play with it and do research to figure out how to use external hardware (SD card) to make it shake hands with internal hardware (C: drive) where ITunes is, but the information is on the web. It has a full-sized USB port so thumb drives and external hard drives can be attached without adapters. It's small enough to be easily transported, but big and bright enough to actually be useful. I also bought a Mobile Hotspot gadget from my cell phone company (AT&T) so I can use it when wifi's not available. In summary, so far, I like it a lot.

Comments about Dell 64GB Venue 11 Pro 10.8" Tablet:

I purchased this tablet after much delibration back in Decemeber and received it jus time to travel over teh Christmas break. I compared all the tablets that were out when this tablet came out and this really was the best option with regard to price and features. My reason for purchasing the tablet was to replace a netbook that I had had for a couple of years. I started a Master's program and the netbook was a beast with the extended battery. I've used the tablet coupled with the mobile keyboard for taking notes in class, making presentation on the fly, writing papers in word, and even taking notes with the stylus at board meetings. Granted, if I was to dock a star it would be due to the funcionality of the stylus. It works but it's a little annoying or maybe takes more practice than I have had actually using the stylus. It does everything I throw at it with ease. The battery life is amazing. I did purchase an extra battery that i keep in my briefcase just in case I forget to plug it in and I don't end up in a pinch. I coudl plug it in and use it, but who uses a tablet attached to a wire? The camera is decent though I don't use it for takign pictures because i don't want to be "that guy." The display is great, the touchscreen is as repsonsive as any other i've used. I use the metro apps a bit more on the tablet than i do on my desktop; however, I feel like the desktop version of applications offer more funcionality so, more often than not, I find myself using those when i have the keyboard attached and the metro ones when I don't. I honestly can't say anything bad about the tablet (aside from the stylus). I'd defnintely buy it again.

Bought for travel and work primarily for need of Windows and didn't want to pay the high price for a Surface pro or pro 2. At least this unit runs a full version of windows unlike the regular surface running windows rt (let's face it, rt is pretty worthless). The good about the Venue is cost, nice screen quality and size, decent build, not as good as iPad or Surface. Many accessories available from Dell. The bad is the touch interface needs improvement, not as accurate to finger input as iPad. prefer iPads for reading and movies, but prefer the dell and windows for just about everything else but wish the touchscreen worked better. the processor is a bit laggy but for the price (for now) is good enough.

I wanted to use this to carry on jobs which means taking notes, writing reports, viewing plans and documents, and using email. From my perspective it fails all but the last. This thing if fine if all one wants to do is access social media but if you want to do serious work... forget it. One other note, it took a tech almost 20 minutes to figure out how to make the print large enough to read!
