I love the case! It is very well built and the compartments are readily accessible. Only minus is it doesn't facilitate the adapter ring, protector filter and hood. The adapter ring and protector filter without the metal lens cap just fits. But then again, it was made to be compact.

Overall, I am very pleased with the look and build.

This case is well made and it fits the design-purpose of the X100S it is made for. But, as a full-time case during your photo-making activities, it does suffer some limitations.

If you want to use a tripod or monopod, there is no cutout in the case bottom to access the tripod mount hole on the X100S. You have to remove the case bottom entirely to do that.

The case top, in front, does not fit over the lens, when the lens hood is mounted. If you fancy using the lens hood, you must twist it off the lens before closing this case. If you use a protective or circular-polarizing filter, the combination of the filter adaptor-ring, the filter(s), and lens cap make for a very tight fit, otherwise.

The leather strap is stitched with smooth leather on both sides, but has no fabric in the portion that makes contact with a bare neck. During warm weather, it is a bit uncomfortable as perspiration wets it.

As a fashion accessory, the case does look good if you like the retro-camera case-look of rangefinder cameras 50-years ago. It will store the unadorned "as-issued" X100S nicely. But as a working-case in the field, it has limitations. Perhaps a belt-worn soft case is a better practical choice. That would also allow you to carry accessory filters, an extra battery, and lens cloth.

If this is not the case you are looking for, there are other well-made aftermarket leather cases that address the limitations I mentioned. Some shops will offer standard options for your specific needs, including an over-the-hood front. Prices vary, obviously. Plus, an extended case front does defeat the compact design of the X100S, somewhat.

      Nice Leather Poor Design

Comments about Leather Case for the X100/ X100S Cameras (Brown):

The case looks nice but there are three major flaws. The snaps that hold the top cover section onto the bottom part are too weak and it falls off when open. Another issue is that the opening in the hatch that allows access to the bottom battery cover and SD card is too small and you can't actually open the cover! With some modification it could probably be made to work but it certainly should not require repairs as purchased. Lastly the camera strap has at each end a black nylon material common to most straps except that in this case it is extremely thin and flimsy, almost more like fabric rather than strap material. I can't imagine why they would use such a cheap material for a camera that has paid so much attention to quality and aesthetics in every other area. On the bright side the leather is nice and the color rich but functionally it is lacking. It brings the whole experience of owning the camera down a notch. I owned an X100 and X100s with the earlier case and strap and was very happy with it.

Comments about Leather Case for the X100/ X100S Cameras (Brown):

The case is well constructed and sturdy. The stitching is finely done, and the case is pleasing to the eye. It fits relatively well with the X100S, and the various compartments do a good job of keeping you from having to take your camera completely out of the case in order to use it. However, the door at the bottom of the case (allowing access to the battery and memory card) does not match up perfectly with the camera. As a result, it takes some significant force to access that part of the camera. For this reason it appears easier to simply take the camera entirely out of the case when needing to access the battery and memory card. Now, will it protect your camera? Yes. But it is not the Otterbox version of a camera case. If you drop your camera while in the case, there will be some unwanted jarring, since there is little internal cushioning in the case.Is the case worth purchasing? Yes. While in the case the camera is VERY secure, and there is only the occasional need to remove the camera from the case entirely.

I love this brown leather case for my X100S. It looks stylish and protects my camera. I don't use lens cap anymore because this case also protects my lens. Now I bring my camera with me because I don't need to worry about it being scratched. Strongly recommended. Further more, it smells great, I love the leather smell :)

This case is very well made but I would probably just buy the half case next time. I hardly ever use the other half because I have the lens shade on it. The only thing I would change with the half case is being able to mount a tripod without removing it.

Was a little concern reading the reviews of this item, mainly due to the size of the upper cover. But, I took a chance and it is working great. I have a B+W filter with an adapter ring and the top cover snaps in. I knocked off a start because Fuji should have made it bigger for the popular hood even from the x100 series. They had a few years. Otherwise, the leather is quality and for the price vs. the competing products is a good value IMHO.

Of course lens shade or lens cap will not fit...use your hand for shade or put into pocket and let filter protect lens.

it makes a perfect compact and discrete everyday carry without needing the protection and weight of a bag.

Top quality construction...good snaps, design, and materials. Looks great too. Surprisingly easy to shoot with the top dangling or with the top taken off...YAY FUJI!

I was not impressed with strap but did not plan on using it anyways...although it would look good if I did use it.

I always carry the camera in my shoulder bag. This case keeps it clean and dust free. Also, I don't need a lens cap with the cover on. The top of the case rips right off for those fleeting street shots that I bought the camera for in the first place. I wish it had a way to mount the camera and case on a tripod.

This is a good quality case, that offers a lot of protection to the camera. Makes it easy to stick in another bag and not worry about it.

I would have given a 5 if there was access to the tripod screw. Because of that I'm not certain if I am going to keep the case or not. I use it for a Gordy's sling strap as well as my tripod for long exposures.

I may end up keeping it to use for protection when traveling, although there are many cheaper alternatives.

If you don't use a tripod often, then this case may be perfect for you.

Comments about Leather Case for the X100/ X100S Cameras (Brown):

This is a great case. It's well made & I think it's a fair price for the quality. If you own an x100 or x100s, this is a "must have" accessory. If I'm out shooting, I typically take the top cover off and stash it in my pocket. If I'm only taking a couple of pictures, I just leave the top cover on. It's so liberating to walk around with this case instead of bringing my full dslr kit along.

Tip - if you plan to use a protective UV filter on this camera, get a low profile one (I got the B+H 49mm UV Slim SC 010 and the fuji adaptor ring). With this setup, the case will just barely close with the fuji lens cap on - it would probably be too tight with a regular filter. It won't close with the Lens Hood on, but that's easy to take on and off & I rarely use it anyhow.

Comments about Leather Case for the X100/ X100S Cameras (Brown):

The case is very well made and is reminiscent of a Leica M3 case from the 1950's which is approprite given the appearance of the X100/X100S. My only complaint is the part of the case covering the lens isn't long enough to accommodate The filter holder much less the lens hood.

This is a very pretty retro case, however, while using it, after lifting the top part, it fell of and onto the ground. We ended up putting in in my pocket because it was hard to get up and down, over the lens. I do have a filter on my lens which could have caused that problem. I think it's a wonderful fashion statement and great if you are storing the camera, but for practical purposes, it tends to be in the way.

Who doesn't love a stylish, soft, classic looking leather case to match their camera? Not this guy! This case is awesome! No, you can't fit the camera with the lens hood inside the full case, but the lens hood is so easy to remove you'd have to be extremely lazy for that to really bother you. I personally use it mostly as a half-case, offering the perfect balance of protection, versatility, and looks.

Purchased this for my x100s. The craftsmanship is second to none with the leather and stitching taking center stage. The camera fits nice and snug, easily making it a 'second' skin for those not wanting to expose the elements to the camera body. 5 stars.

Decent leather and several good features: I can access the battery/card on the bottom easily. I can even remove the front/top half when the lens hood is attached. Bonus - using half or shooting with the case open gives a better grip than without it.

Comments about Leather Case for the X100/ X100S Cameras (Brown):

It is a good case - well assembled, fits the camera perfectly and protects it really well. However, I personally prefer natural leather feel, while, although it is leather, it looks and feels more like artificial leather or some other man-made material. And one inside pocket for lens cloth would be nice addon. Other than that, really good case.

                                              This case is a compromise

Comments about Leather Case for the X100/ X100S Cameras (Brown):
