Comments about Sharp 48" Class LC-48LE551U AQUOS Full HD LED TV:

Easy setup, factory settings fine for our house (others have tweaked settings). Thin bezel, thin overall dimension (good cable i/o design), light for size. Great price from B&H too. Great overall value w/o bells and whistles that we didn't need (smart TV stuff, wifi...we have all that taken care of with Apple TV). Sound isn't all that bad with just the TV speakers but, of course, hookup to sound bar or surround amp is better.

It's used for casual watching, mostly in the evening. I followed an online suggestion for settings which worked out very well:
                      AV Mode [User]
Backlight 35, Contrast 60, Brightness 68, Color 63, Tint 0, Sharpness 17, Color Temp Natural, Advanced Picture features ALL OFF
There was a little trouble getting the Verizon FIOS remote to handle the volume control, but their "Fix" procedure worked.

Comments about Sharp 48" Class LC-48LE551U AQUOS Full HD LED TV:

I recieved the tv as a b-day gift delivered to my door within 3days of ordering for $ total. I opened the package and had the tv hooked up through optical audio and my XB1 and Uverse setup in less than 10 mins. The stand took 4 screws and a minute to put together and is completely sturdy. It has a sleek slim design especially for its price range. Everything works great so far and the upgrade from my Samsung LCD LN37A55 Model was instantly noticeable. The sceeen size jump from 37 to 48 helps create very large fine detailed colorful images that you just can get on tv's that are 40" and under, so both XB1 games and HDTV look splendid. The "standard energy" setting for the tv produces a nice picture right out of the box however you really just need to tweak the settings, which is amazingly simple, to really get sweet results. There is a dramatic difference so make sure to do so. XB1 games are looking so good. I'm not used to seeing any lag or motion blur from the Samung Tv I upgraded from and Im not noticing any either on my XB1 games on this unit. In fact the images are pretty vivid, detailed, & smooth, that Im going back and playing some of my old titles just to see how much nicer they look. I do notice so many more details and i'm loving it. Colors like bright yellows, blues, green, reds just pop out and the blacks are nice an rich and is something I would have expected from the Aquos tv's after seeing these models of tvs on store shelves over the years. I only have 1 Blu-Ray dvd which I played and did think it produced the best overall result of picture quality from my 3 video sources, however the XB1 1080p games are about on par with image quality. *I will not comment on sound as I do not use the tv speakers* but optical audio output does decode in DTS and have had no issues with my audio receiver working through digital optical.i cant really say I really have any complaints because I bought this tv knowing its limited features. It does have 3 hdmi/component/optical out/Usb all of which is pretty standard. No Internet. I did consider these options LG 47" Black LED 1080P HDTV – 47LN5400PN51F5300 Samsung 51" Black Plasma 1080P HDTVLG 42" Black LED 1080P HDTV – 42LN5300Toshiba Black 40" Class Slim LED HDTV - 40L2400U Samsung UN46EH5000 46" Class LED HDTVSo at 469 shipped, Im giving it 5 stars because I feel the value of this caliber of screen would have cost way over 1 thousand dollars when I bought my samsung model in 09. Its also priced at a bargain especially for the its size and further more brand recognition. Its not the most amazing tv ever, but I definitely feel like I'm getting alot more value for my money with this purchase so far.

Right when TVs are going smart and raising the price just for features, this tv delivers the classic functionality of displaying an image, and thats really all you need. The quality is fantastic and I love the amount of ports. It even has Component video for older equipment. Plugging my mac into it is awesome as well.
Just comparing the 32-40inch SMART tvs to this make me wonder why you would even want wifi and stuff on it.
Right now save $30 extra which is the price of a Chromecast, BAM, smart TV.

I would recommend this to a friend, foe, or even a cat.
