Mechanical controls afford access to virtually all camera functions, and the built-in, flat polycarbonate port with anti-reflective coating accommodates the lens.

The Mark II's built-in, pop-up flash is also usable, and an included diffusion plate softens its light to eliminate backscatter, glare, and hard shadows in your images. Additionally, the case comes configured with a cold shoe mount for accessories, such as an optional lighting arm or an external flash in a separate housing, which can be connected via fiber-optic cable.

Built for durability, the WP-DC53 is constructed from a strong plastic polymer, which is clear to enable you to monitor the waterproof seal and the camera. A neck strap and wrist strap are included, as is a container of silicone grease for O-ring lubrication, which is necessary to maintain the housing's waterproof seal.

Comments about Canon WP-DC53 Waterproof Case for PowerShot G1 X Mark II Digital Camera:

Overall, I was very impressed with the housing. Relative to previous WP-DC models the majority of the controls are available through the housing. The flash diffuser is moderately effective as well, which is a drastic improvement from past models. This is a thoughtfully built, entry level housing.
Importantly, the Canon G1x mark ii performs so so underwater. The photo quality I would say is marginally better than lower quality powershot models. The speed of focussing is still too slow for shooting moving targets underwater. The f2 aperture is nice, but focussing in low light is so slow that it almost entirely negates the advantage of the large aperture.
I would say that this housing-camera combo is a good choice for people who are looking for a high end point and shoot. This does not come close to SLR quality or speed of focussing.
