The Manfrotto MT055CXPRO4 Carbon Fiber Tripod is a 4-section support that replaces the 055CXPRO4 tripod. It has a load capacity of 19.8 lb and extends from 3.5" to 66.9". Its carbon fiber legs are secured by the Quick Power Locks. These updated flip locks increase the tripod's rigidity by 50% compared to its predecessor.

A redesigned center column has a "one finger" operation, and includes an Easy Link 3/8"-16 attachment for attaching accessories such as an LED light or a reflector via a compatible arm. The center column can be positioned horizontally, allowing for low-angle and macro photography. The upper disc where a tripod head is mounted has been redesigned as well, and now has a bull's eye bubble level that rotates 360° so you can locate it where you can see it. This allows you to level your camera on both the horizontal and vertical planes.

      Great for stability

Comments about Manfrotto MT055CXPRO4 Carbon Fiber Tripod:

It is great for carrying my expensive camera and lenses; I get a sense of comfort that nothing is going to fall to the ground; I find though that it is on a heavy side for carrying around all day long.

Comments about Manfrotto MT055CXPRO4 Carbon Fiber Tripod:

Excellent stability and ease of use. I had an older aluminum 055 with the screw type leg locks and the flips locks are a huge time saver. I went with the 4 section since I travel often and this is more compact than the 3 section. The level indicator rotates which comes in handy when setting up for pano shots. I use a 410 gear head combined with this tripod works well for me. Very stable and precise for architecture. This is my forth tripod and hopefully my last for many years. My main reasons for purchasing was the 4 section and flip locks. The carbon fiber was just on "impulse" but glad I did - nice to save some weight on those hikes. When converting the center column from vertical to horizontal there is a red plastic piece that rises with the column and it seems a bit flimsy and out of place for the rest of the tripod. Besides that every component is very well made in my opinion.

Comments about Manfrotto MT055CXPRO4 Carbon Fiber Tripod:

I currently own 7 Manfrotto tripods and recently added the new MT055CXPRO4 to my collection. It very solid and holds well at any angle yet it's light weight enough to carry or pack. The new leg clamps work well just like they describe and the new center stem is nice to work with. I mounted the new XPRO 3-way head on this unit but I have the 3 section model with an 055 ball head that works well too. Overall, I am very happy with Manfrotto products and the support from B&H. I'm sure the price could scare a few people away but with a tripod...you truly get what you pay for!

Comments about Manfrotto MT055CXPRO4 Carbon Fiber Tripod:

Very fairly priced and good utility. The leg locking feature is great - no turning/tightening - this makes for much faster setup if moving from location to location to shoot (like realestate interiors).

We have the older version as well and while there are a few improvements here (rotating level, stiffer leg locks), the older version is easier to use - especially the leg angle buttons which on this new model are much harder to operate.

We have Gitzo and RRS tripods also, and they are rock solid, but no where near as convenient when requently changing shooting locations. For the money and convenience, this Manfrotto is hard to beat and is very rigid.
