    Not a good frequency response

Comments about Synchros S200i iOS In-Ear Headphones (Glacier):

I was disappointed with the frequency response. Too much low end and not enough high end. I expect better from JBL.

Comments about Synchros S200i iOS In-Ear Headphones (Glacier):

I've been looking for a comfortable in-ear earphone that could decently compete with mid-range headphones for all types of music (pop, classical, hard rock, dance). Plenty of them had various issues: shrill treble, muddy excessive bass, unnatural sounding timbre (like a frosted glaze was draped over the strings)... Some were good for classical, but horrible for everything else. Some did pop well, but became shrill with hard rock. Sennheisers, Denons, V-Modas, Shures, Sonys, AKGs, Beyerdynamics, and previous JBLs...

With the S200, JBL may have found the perfect earphone. At least for those of us whose musical tastes aren't limited to a single genre.

In pop (Michael Jackson), they produce a deep but clear bass line with all other frequencies well balanced against the vocals. Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion duetting don't sound shrill, even when they're trying to out-scream one another. Heavy metal guitars aren't grating. Orchestral music is transparent, with impactful lower brass & percussion, crisp upper brass, clean strings and warm winds. Dance & latin have enough low-end oomph to enjoy the rhythm, while keyboards & guitars sparkle, and vocals are again perfectly balanced in the middle, neither too loud against the background track nor muddied by thumping bass.

I never cared for manufacturers' descriptions of their products. Everyone advertises their earphones as premium this and premium that, reference sound, high quality audio, etc.

The S200 from JBL are a rare instance in which the tag line for the product, "The New Sound of Premium Listening", actually matches the product quality.

This may finally be the first pair of earphones I'm going to have to stock up on in case JBL stops producing them. They're that good. The price is a little steep, but then again, they sound better than more expensive earphones.
