The Sunwayfoto PSL-a7II L-Bracket for Sony a7 enables fast changes between portrait and landscape orientation with your Sony a7 without the need to readjust your head and completely recompose the shot. You can simply release the bracket from your Arca-type quick-release clamp, tilt it 90°, and lock the bracket back in place. Using an L-bracket also facilitates a sturdier base of support than tilting an entire head to a 90° position. The vertical and horizontal plates can be separated, and the horizontal plate can be used alone with a tripod or monopod.

Precision CNC machined from aluminum.
Two safety stop screws prevent the bracket from accidentally sliding out of a clamp while making adjustments.
A slot on the bracket allows you to attach a strap to the bracket.
A convex edge design prevents the camera from twisting.
Anodized surface provides improved abrasion and corrosion resistance.

Comments about Sunwayfoto PSL-a7II L-Bracket For Sony a7:

This bracket fits great in the verticle position, however in the horizontal (landscape) it slides easily in my RRS Ballhead. I* solved this by adding two layers of electrical tape to the front. Then I noticed I couldn't pull the rear panel out so I added somer electrical tape to make a tab that sticks out. Finally the corner of the bracket is a bit sharp so I filed it rounder and applied some gloss black Rustoleum. All that said it is now wonerful and still $ less than the RRS Bracket. And I think it looks better.

Comments about Sunwayfoto PSL-a7II L-Bracket For Sony a7:

DOES NOT WORK WITH QUICK RELEASE CLAMPThe design of this clamp is flawed. If you have a quick release it will not work because the clamped-width on the horizontal size is smaller than on the verticle side. That means if you clamp on vertical side with a perfect fit, the horizontal side will be loosed.DOES NOT FITI use Acratech quick release clamp and it does not fit on the horiztal side, too small. In order for this to work, you must have 1) a screw type clamp with 2) minimum/closing position meassured from the widest ends of 38mm or smaller.1 star is for the decent finish and construction.TESTING WAS NOT DONE CORRECTLYIf the manufacturer put this L bracket on popular brand name clamps or meassure the clamped-width after it was clamped then they would see the issue and redesign to fix it. Meassurement won't do it because on one side there is no upper wall, so the it could be clamped in further.

Comments about Sunwayfoto PSL-a7II L-Bracket For Sony a7:

There is a standoff pin on the port access door side of the bottom edge of the camera (probably used to align the battery grip accessory) that prevents the camera from sitting flush against the l-plate. Other manufacturer l-plates have specific grooves to accommodate for this pin, however the Sunwayfoto does not. Too bad, as I like the quality construction, low weight, and convenient lens alignment markings.

If alignment is not super-critical to you, then this may not be an issue, but since I need good alignment for use with a nodal slide and rotator, I'm giving this item 2 stars.

Comments about Sunwayfoto PSL-a7II L-Bracket For Sony a7:

I have used L-brackets on my cameras for years. There used to be only a couple brands available and they were costly, so when the Sunwayfoto brands became available, it was nice. I have had very good luck with them and found them to be the functional equivalent of the "name branded" items. Until recently. This is the second Sunwayfoto bracket I have bought for my Sony A7r. On both, the bevel for the mount is too thin and the clamp does not clamp down tight on it. This is a disappointing part of an otherwise well-made and reasonably priced item.

Comments about Sunwayfoto PSL-a7II L-Bracket For Sony a7:

I like the look of the plate but it doesn't hold my camera securely with my Markins M20 ballhead. Wimberley and RRS plates fit tightly with my M20. With this plate, the camera can easily slide off the ballhead if there's no safety nut installed. Very bad product, the tolerance is too high or maybe their QC department is not doing their job.

I have a dozen L brackets for various cameras including an RSS bracket for my A7 & A7R camersa. The fit and finish of the Sunwayfoto bracket is as good as the RSS bracket but about one third of the cost. I highly recommend the Sunwayfoto bracket. The RSS bracket is bulkier but easier to adjust/remove than the Sunwayfoto bracket.
