The Canon EOS C100 Cinema EOS Camera with Dual Pixel CMOS AF and EF-S 18-135mm IS STM Lens combines the compact Full HD 1080p EOS C100 camera with a versatile zoom lens that covers wide to telephoto focal lengths on the camera's Super 35mm-sized CMOS image sensor. This EOS C100 has a hardware and firmware update that adds a new continuous autofocus function. The continuous AF mode uses Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology for faster, smoother, and more accurate autofocusing for all Canon autofocus lenses.

The EOS C100 uses the AVCHD codec to record 1080p video up to 24 Mbps. It supports dual SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards which, thanks to the efficient AVCHD codec, allows you to record nearly three hours of HD video on a single 32GB card. For professional applications, you can also record clean, uncompressed 4:2:2 video with embedded timecode via the HDMI output. Additional features such as One-Shot AF and Push Auto Iris allow operators to spend less time checking camera settings and more time capturing cinematic footage.

The Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens offers an extensive focal range from wide angle to telephoto. The lenses stepping motor (STM) and focus mechanism offers quiet and smooth autofocus and is fully compatible with the EOS C100's Dual Pixel CMOS AF for continuous autofocusing. The lens also provides optical image stabilization to help reduce the effects of camera shake. Used together, the EOS C100 and 18-135mm lens is ideal for event videographers, documentarians, and independent filmmakers working with small crews or run-and-gun shooting situations.

Great for High Volume / Fast Throughput!

Comments about Canon EOS C100 Cinema EOS Camera with Dual Pixel CMOS AF and EF-S 18-135mm IS STM Lens:

This camera shoots very sharp footage, and even though the codec isn't super robust (for heavy grading) the Canon log / cinema mode and dynamic range leaves me plenty of room for the kinds of effects and grading I'm interested in doing. When I am working with green screen for clients I slap on an external recorder to get that 422 color and I'm set! The difference between this camera and the 5D3 is the same as any rebel to the 5D3. If you want to do video and you've got the funds for the 5D3 and a rig / focus pull system, just get the C100 with the AF upgrade; you will be glad you did! The small file size of avchd, broader DR, sharper footage, and real film making tools / features physically available via external buttons and switches on this thing has my dslrs officially replaced for video production. Thinking about buying this camera? Do it! By the time you buy all the peripheral junk you need to achieve the built in functions of this machine in an under featured fully manual body, you'd be near the same price point and you'd have to bolt everything together every time you use it (or lug around a huge box!) This thing works right out of the box and kicks major button!
