Very nice monitor and a great value for color correct monitors. Used my Spyder Pro 4 on it and it rated it as 96% of Adobe RGB. I have another monitor that I also calibrated but it displays much to bright and has hot spots. Very nice controls and easy to setup.

Comments about HP 24" Z24X DreamColor LED Backlit Professional IPS LCD Display:

I cut video and create motion graphics for a living. Typically I've used apple displays and/or broadcast displays at the places I've worked and at home. I didn't want to buy the current Thunderbolt display, however, because it's pretty old now and they will likely come out with an expensive 5k any day too. Plus I wanted to try an alternative to apple and heard good things about the z24x. I'm very happy with the product. Colors match my mbpro and pc without any more calibration, the anti-glare is really nice (though not as crisp) and the on-screen menus are the best implementation I've used. The stand is adjustable too but I just keep it at its highest point. For the price, I actually prefer two 24" monitors vs one 27". Lots of connections. No SDI or anything but it's not trying to be a broadcast monitor.

Comments about HP 24" Z24X DreamColor LED Backlit Professional IPS LCD Display:

I bought this monitor because I couldn't rationalize the extra cost of the NEC or an Eizo. On paper, they're all about equal in terms of performance. Overall, the color seems pretty good. I find every time I get a new monitor there is some adjustment period. Your eyes get accustomed to looking at a certain thing and when it changes, you can always tell. But I've calibrated this monitor several times now and it always comes in pretty much right where it was the previous time. Even if its been a week. After a few weeks, I feel like this is a pretty good display. My one complaint is that sometimes I notice what looks like a magenta cast if you don't look at it straight on and if you're at a distance. I see this often when I come into the room or if I'm at a distance from my desk. Once I sit down, it seems to go away. That could either be my eyes adjusting to a new neutral, or it could also be influenced by my pallet monitor which is not calibrated sitting next to it. Its hard to say for sure. But it definitely seems to be warm when looked at from a distance or an off angle.

                      Pros:
Calibrated to a Delta E of less than 1.0 in the center.
The price to performance ratio is outstanding.

                      Cons:
Extreme lower right and left corners of mine are just noticeably green and magenta (I've noticed this on other pro displays such as NEC pa242).

Overall this is a great display for photo editing in AdobeRGB. If you're used to Eizo monitors you'll miss the automatic hardware calibration, hood support, and perfect uniformity but the one this you won't miss is the price.

Comments about HP 24" Z24X DreamColor LED Backlit Professional IPS LCD Display:

got this mostly as a viewer for FCP X and as a second screen in Illustrator and general computing tasks. Sometimes we also use it for lightweight grading in Resolve for smaller projects that dont have the budget to go to a post house.

my first unit was manufactured in april 2014 and had some pretty bad corner illumination issues (also covered in liftgammagain forum), but HP fixed that issue with panels manufactured after june 2014. I had mine replaced and receieved a June panel and it is much much better and the illumination, yet still there, is at an acceptable level. Also HP has amazing customer service they sent someone to my house to replace the unit.

Colors are great, motion is rendered nicely, it can be daisy chained with DP 1.2, and black levels are pretty nice. Also comes pre-calibrated from the factory. If you want to recalibrate it, this model (z24x) only works with windows for that.

Overall this is a great budget pro monitor that can be used for NLE work, light grading, and general computing. The market really needed one of these, because not everybody has 3k+ to blow on a Flanders or Eizo or whatever- but still deserves to see their projects in accurate color and motion.

Comments about HP 24" Z24X DreamColor LED Backlit Professional IPS LCD Display:

I am a student filmmaker and can't afford a proper calibration monitor. So I struggled with getting my videos to look even slightly similar on different devices. then comes along this beauty. I use this with an AJA T-tap, and bought the calibration probe bringing the total to around $ , so still not bad for a calibrated monitor. I haven't been able to see any visual difference between this display, my plasma, An ASUS tablet, etc. It does need a windows PC in order to be calibrated. Since I'm on a Mac, I bootcamped the Windows 30 days trial version for that. There's no need to activate it either. It'll pop up a notice, but the calibration software still works. The best part about this product is the amazing customer support. I had an issue with the display and HP mailed me one in 2 days with a return label for the return. The tech offered to come by, but I didn't feel it was necessary for that. The monitor does not come with 3D lut support, only 1D Lut with a 3x3 matrix. There's a thread on liftgammagain where it's discussed by the lead engineer of the monitor which describes the math associated with it and why their color scientists chose this process. The display only accepts up to 2k input, which is scaled down to 1080p. You can also have it display in true 2k, and anchor the image by one corner at a time. So this monitor is good for web or even theatrical for festivals as long as you work within it's limitations.

Comments about HP 24" Z24X DreamColor LED Backlit Professional IPS LCD Display:

Monitor has a multitude of color options. Using it as an NLE monitor and quite impressed so far. Only thing is I needed to change a few defaults out of the box such as overscan and auto-switch input to adjust to my workflow.

Off-axis color is terrible. It's so bad you can't get black corners when sitting right in front of it. ....

I am a professional visual effects artist and photography. If you care about color in images and you want a 24" display, this is the monitor for you.I use a dual 24" display setup which works perfect for me and out of the box this gives me a fantastic accurate display of the work I am creating. Pre-calibrated and has additional things I like (USB 3, and multi-stream display port 1.2) it works great for me. The price I paid seemed fair to the alternatives (Dell 2413, Eizo) and for a professional color management is essential. I am super happy with my purchase! Well done HP/Dreamworks.

Very nice monitor and a great value for color correct monitors. Used my Spyder Pro 4 on it and it rated it as 96% of Adobe RGB. I have another monitor that I also calibrated but it displays much to bright and has hot spots. Very nice controls and easy to setup.
