Beyerdynamic EA86 - Camera Shoe Shock Mount (for Use with Shotgun Microphones)
The Beyer Dynamic EA-86 is one of our most popular selling (and cost effective) camera mount shock absorbing shotgun microphone holders. It's an inexpensive, essential piece of equipment, which simply gets the job done. Essential because the microphone must be "floating" or isolated from the camera to avoid bumping, general handling and vibration (such as motor rumble, noise, hum, etc.).
The EA-86 consists of a one piece plastic "t" shape, that houses a flexible banded tube mount for the shotgun a built-in shoe mount and threaded is beneath. The threading serves to mount the entire housing to the end of a fish pole (for example) when camera mounting the shotgun just doesn't cut it for the scene.

This shock mount is advertised as "inexpensive" but for molded plastic is not inexpensive. The rubber bands can get stretched and then tend to come off while removing the mic. The best part of this shock mount is the fact that you can use it on the Beyerdynamic MKV-11 boom pole clamp. I removed my shock mount from the clamp on my MKV-11 and ultimately lost it. Rather than spending $55 on a new MKV-11 I bought the EA86 and it fit perfectly on the MKV-11 clamp saving me $. Who cares that there's a shoe mount sticking off it.

As simple as it should be. Easy to attach. Easy to adjust mic once attached. Holds mic securely no movement/noise. And I do a lot of shots with a lot of movement and camera positions.

It's pretty decent, comes with extra bands in case others break. Fits right into the camera shoe without a problem. I bought it to put up top my canon 7d. The only problem I have is that it doesn't lock in so when I'm on the move I have to be careful of it falling out.

Shock mount greatly diminishes any handling noise on the camera and the cold shoe mount makes it usable on all my camcorders. Will definitely purchase this product again in the future for more devices.

I use the EA86 to put a Phillips shotgun mic on my Panasonic DVC 30 camcorder. The molded hot shoe mount fits perfectly. I am impressed with the additional bands and mounting hardware that affords flexibility in using it on different hot shoes.

I have had this mount for a few years and simply never wrote a review on it. It has served me well, and I am actually still on the original set of rubber bands that came with the mount. It isolates vibration pretty well, and is pretty inexpensive so I cannot complain at all. Great little product
