Ilford's Delta 100 Professional is a medium-speed black and white negative film featuring core-shell crystal technology in order to produce extremely sharp results with a fine, uniform grain structure. It has a nominal sensitivity of ISO 100/21° when developed in standard black and white chemistry, but its wide exposure latitude permits rating the film between EI 50 and EI 200 with maintained results. This versatile film is especially well-suited for fine art and pictorial use, as well as general applications requiring high edge sharpness and unobtrusive grain.

This item is one roll of 120 format roll film.

Film Type Panchromatic black and white negative film
Film Format 120
Sensitivity ISO 100/21°
Process Standard black and white chemistry
Base 4 mil / 0.110 mm-thick clear acetate base with an anti-halation backing

Comments about Ilford Delta 100 Professional Black and White Negative Film (120 Roll Film):

I bought this film because it had been at least two years since I did a head-to-head comparison of the FP4 and Delta 100 films, and I recently switched to medium format for most shooting. In the end, I still prefer the FP4 for the kind of photography I do, but the Delta is much more forgiving in 120 format. Some people feel (rightly or not) that the Delta films have less exposure latitude, and in my experience it can have more contrast than I would prefer. The downside to the FP4 for me was the slightly increased grain, but this disappears in the 120 format as well. They're much more evenly matched for me than they were in 35mm, and it won't be another 2 years before I reevalute the Delta.

Comments about Ilford Delta 100 Professional Black and White Negative Film (120 Roll Film):

I'm a devoted fan of medium format silverprint photography. I've tried out various brands and types of film, from Arista EDU to TMAX and all the ones in between, and I always find myself going back to Ilford's fine films. The Delta 100 in particular is my go-to film for outdoor shooting (it's a bit slower than I would like for indoors, but sometimes that's half the fun!). I love the aesthetic Delta 100 provides. My photographs come out very sharp and detailed. The film also scans very well (assuming you have a half decent scanner), which is great for sending photos to family members far away. Needless to say the photos still come out much better when printed on proper silverprint paper.

This film is nearly grain free, even in scans, and gives a wide toanl range. Also, I think highlights are impossible to blow out with this stuff.

Comments about Ilford Delta 100 Professional Black and White Negative Film (120 Roll Film):

Great film, almost grainless, if you like that sort of thing. Some may like a bit more grain these days, with digital sneaking up behind us. All in all an almost fool proof film.

For years I have used T-Max 100 Pro with pyrocat-HD (in glycol). I decided to give Delta 100 a try with the FA-1027 developer. The results are absolutely wonderful. I think I might have found my 'dream' combination that film types are always seeking.

Comments about Ilford Delta 100 Professional Black and White Negative Film (120 Roll Film):

The best black and white film, bar none. The vivid contrast and tonality of this film are really something to see! It gives black and white images depth and makes them snap to life. Ilford Delta 100 makes fantastic prints with an optical enlarger and scans well, too! Although faster speeds of Ilford Delta are also great films, don't get me wrong, I'd highly recommend ISO 100 and using a tripod if necessary. The results are unlike any other black and white film!

Comments about Ilford Delta 100 Professional Black and White Negative Film (120 Roll Film):

I recently shot five rolls of Ilford Delta-100 120 B&W Film (ISO-100) and was extremely happy with the results. The shoot itself was of Art Deco buildings in South Beach, Miami. The results either met or exceeded my expectations at every point! Grain was extremely fine, contrast was outstanding and overall results were very sharp, even when blown up to 11x14. I strongly recommend this film for almost all types of photography where fine grain and a slower speed is called for. My only gripe against the film is that in bright sunshine, it's almsot too fast! I was at the upper end of my meter for the entire day and wished that I had something in the ISO 50 range. But if that's the only problem, then it's easy to work around. Strongly recommended for professionals and amatures alike!
