This Tetenal C-41 Press Kit consists of just one bag of powder each for color developer and bleach/fix. The Tetenal C-41 Press Kit for Color Negative Film is perfect for the traveling photographer or anyone who needs long shelf life, fast mixing and quick processing with consistently excellent results.

This kit is specially designed for the traveling journalist; this chemistry is compact and safe for air travel. Equally well suited for processing with hand inversion tanks and in rotary processors.

Two plastic bags contain the crystals which when stirred in warm water dissolve in seconds, not minutes. There is also a paper envelope with stabilizer in crystal form.

Ok, so if your even thinking twice about buying this developer your nuts. its the cheapest one out there and super easy to mix and use. just have 3 1 liter botles pour the chems in and mix. that easy. the only time i have had issues were if the film was 30 plus years old and i developed too long, or i loaded them in steel reels which were hard to use and overlaped the film on accedent. user error :( so i got plastic reels. :) happy face.

One last note. don't loose your instructions!!!!!!!! i could not stress this enough. but if you do, here they are for the hand tank method.

    **type time temp agitation**

    *pre-soak* 1min 102 none
    *developer* 3.5min 102 agitate first
    10sec then 4
    inversions every 30secs
*Blix* 6.5min 95-105 same as above
***rest can be done in open tank***
    *wash* 3min 95-105 running water
*stabalizer* 1/2-1min room temp agitatate 15sec

It's difficult to give this kit a fair rating, since results are subject to my own competencies. I used this to develop 6 rolls of 120 film (so far). Five of the rolls were Portra 800, and one roll was Fuji 160 Pro. The Fuji film came out stunningly good, as good or better than the lab I usually use (NCPS). If I were to base this review solely on that, it would be 5 stars for sure. The Portra came out less well. Two of the rolls had a color cast that was very difficult to impossible to correct digitally. The remaining 3 rolls came out fairly well, just a slight (and correctable) color cast, but not what I would call professional results. Maintaining temps was easier than I thought, so I don't think I messed anything up during the process, but I'm definitely a newbie...

I've used this on Lomo film and more professional film. Don't let it sit without use. I made the mistake and ruined 3 rolls of 120 film. Two of them were Ektar. It makes great images, but like any developer, it expires.

This was my first time developing C41 and I had no trouble with this kit. Everything mixes smoothly. I developed 16 rolls with no problems. I've heard of others getting even more. Just follow the directions, they're straightforward.

I bought this kit thinking it was going to be lower end bc of the price and was blown away with how great it did! Lots of reviews saying not to do a Blix mix and I like not having a 4th step in developing! This was quick, easy to do, and I felt kinda like a scientist when mixing the blix (it bubbled and got hot) overall this is a great buy and when I'm ready for more I will buy this produce again!

I have been wanting to dive into colour developing for a long time and this gave me the means to do so. If you're looking at this because you want to try developing at home yourself, don't be intimidated (or listen to all the naysayers out there). It was incredibly simple to use, and it's really quite easy in a bathtub to keep the temperature consistent. Even with my less-than-perfect execution the first time around, my film (Fuji Superia 400) turned out perfectly. Also, I mixed mine into 1L mason jars and keep them in a dark closet for next time. I definitely recommend this if you want to dive into colour processing for yourself! Trust me, if I can do, you definitely can!

These plastic bags are beautifully crazy. The sound they make when you crinkle them is just astounding. The chemicals they hold are also very convenient and easy to use. My negatives came out quite lovely.

Easy to mix and use, essential nowadays with the lack of C41 labs and quality concerns attached to the remaining low-volume C41 labs. Develop C41 yourself at home! Easy and fun, easier than developing B&W in many ways!

Comments about Tetenal C-41 Press Kit for Color Negative Film (Powder):

I developed my first roll of C41 with it and it worked extremely well.
Follow the directions in the kit (especially the temperature) and a few drops of Photoflow in the Stabilizer and you will end up with great colour negatives.
Each kit will do 8 rolls of 35mm and all the chemicals are re-used for all 8.
I believe it is easier than B&W developing.
I am glad I bought several kits. In powder form, it ships easily between the US and Canada. It also stores a long time as a powder.
Film developing chemicals are hard to come by, but this Tetenal (Jobo) Press Kit eliminates the "hard to find" part of colour negative developing.

I had been processing black & white for a couple of years, and had always heard how difficult color film was to develop so was leery of trying it, but came across instructions that seemed easy enough. This kit wasn't exactly the same as the instructions I found described, but it was close to it. The kit does come with complete instructions for mixing and using the chemicals, and apart from getting the chemicals to the right temperature, it was not hard to use. After developing a couple of rolls, it's about as easy as developing black and white. I hope B&H continues to carry this product in the future, as will be buying this again.

I was intimidated by color processing before using this kit. I've heard horror stories on "the dreaded color film process" But once I had it in my hands and read the instructions I found it how easy it was. It really helps out with students (or recent grads like myself) when it comes to budgeting their artistic practice. I've developed a bunch of rolls with no problems! Will purchase again!

Comments about Tetenal C-41 Press Kit for Color Negative Film (Powder):

The powder is super easy to make and works wonderfully with my JoBo processor. I prefer this much more than having someone else process my film. I've also found out that if you've got a ton of 120mm film, you can re-use this chemistry for about nine rolls total. I didn't try any more than that though, because I didn't want my color to be off.

This is great if you are starting to develop color film by yourself. The instructions aren't hard to follow and it does a good job with developing.
