I use this connected to a flash bracket on a Polaroid Land Camera 250. Mounted on the PC shoe is a Nikon SB-22 flash. After several adjustments, I have the perfect set up for taking flash photography with my Polaroid.

I've immediately noticed that one of the three screws on the hot shoe it self where slightly over the surface and it scratch the hot show of Canon 580 EX speedlight. Not major damages but it should be better finished.

I didn't buy my Kaiser adapter from B&H (sorry!) but if the model they are selling is the same as mine--and I don't see why it wouldn't be--it has another useful feature that isn't shown in the photograph.

On the front of the base of the adapter there is a small notch cut out. The pre-hot shoe Leicas have a little post which sticks up in the front of the cold shoe which slides neatly into this notch. The PC-hot shoe adapters I have seen from some other manufacturers lack this cut out, and so can't slide fully into the shoe like the Kaiser can. So this adapter will convert your M3 and some other Leicas (if you have the proper adapter for your M2 or M3--they need a special attachment to convert their proprietary socket to a standard PC socket) into a camera with a proper hot shoe.

Besides that, the Kaiser does seem to be much better built than similar adapters I have used by other manufacturers, which tend to fail under the slightest stress.

This version might be a bit more expensive--but I think it's worth the few extra dollars for the higher quality.

I use this in order to connect my old Quantum Radio Slave II receiver to my Vivitar 285HV flash (for strobist purposes). I read the reviews of the cheaper PC-to-Hot-shoe adapters and they were negative, so I bought this one. It does the job..although the plastic still seems pretty cheap. It doesn't have a locking system on it, but it does have a screw mount at the bottom of it for a light stand. The PC jack is actually a very tight fit onto my Quantum receiver unit..it barely fits. But it does work well. I don't trust it enough to use it without any stabilization, so I also bought some gaffer tape to stabilize it even more when the flash is attached. I am confident in its electronics, though.

Use Strobist style with my Canon 580EX Flash heads and they fit like a glove. Nice fitting PC to Socket connection to radio triggers. The PC to PC cord is longer than others at around 15cm and works well for a quick set up with my Lastolite Ezy Box softbox. German made and have served me well over the last 2 months.

I own a 1D Mk. II and a 580ex II and bought this adapter because I was having problems with my hotshoe and didn't have time to send my equipment in to be repaired b\c of a shoot, so I got this as a temp. fix. Unfortunately, the cord's connection to my camera body were loose as well as the connection to my camera's hotshoe (especially with the weight of the flash). The only solution was duct tape. Also, the cord is so short, I could only use this with my flash mounted on the camera, leaving me with a very limited control over my light.

Great way to sync a hotshoe strobe off camera.  Well mafe even has a cold shoe or 1/4 20 mount for attaching it to a stand or adapter.

This adapter holds my Canon 580EX securely on the stand. Nice fit and it does the job it was purchased for.

I've used the other brand that is a few dollars less and easier to find. That has done well except for one time when the housing broke open at the seam or join line. The Kaiser has 3 screws that join both halves. The other brand has 2 screws that only join the metal shoe to the top half of the housing. The Kaiser has a heftier design that exudes quality, strength and reliability. The threaded hole on the bottom side is also deeper. There's not much to say about the PC cord and connector. It's good and it don't look flimsy. Paying more for the Kaiser may lower your funds, but what you get out it is negligible in the long run where you need it. This is one valuable hot shoe that will be with me a good long while.

I use these to fire remote Canon 550ex's with Quantum Radio Slaves (since the 550's don't have a pc connection built in). I've tried other brands, but they don't fit well with the Canon flashes. No complaints of any kind on these.
