Comments about Kaiser Hot Shoe Flash Slave:

Worked well most of the time. As long as the distance between the main flash and the slave was under 12 feet. After that it was not reliable, would not fire.

Comments about Kaiser Hot Shoe Flash Slave:

I tried to fire a second flash unit with this product and found that you practically have to aim the triggering flash at the sensor for it to work. I even tried to shape an auxiliary reflector out of tin foil to no avail. This is practically useless in real world settings.

Great for those times, when I need some fill light somewhere else! Can use my nikon speedlight on this and my AB800 triggers it!

Comments about Kaiser Hot Shoe Flash Slave:

I used this for around a week and then went over to [...]radio slaves. The whole optical thing just didn't work that great in my opinion. It was a pain having to shoot with two flashes (more battery usage) and even more of a pain having to ensure that my second flash could "see" my first flash. Plus, it is impossible to use this slave during the day.

Comments about Kaiser Hot Shoe Flash Slave:

I've used this slave from many different angles and various distances with activation by flash or IR mounted on my Nikon D200. Results are always the same: works best with direct line of fire from IR but by using reduced distances you can create angles. I've had it work really well by wall bounce when I couldn't even see the sensor. As light activated, it will fire from many different angles and of course greater distances. Overall, the few dollars spent, went a long way to helping out with lighting.
