I was looking for a lens cap for a telephots lens I had just purchased and found the N.Y. Superstore for
B&H Photo on the internet. Seeing the toll-free#, I called it. I reached a very kind technician who knew what he was talking about. We determined the proper size, hung up and then ordered it online. This all took place in under five min's. It arrived in three days. I couldn't be happier. Who ever would have thought that somone at a large store in the Big Apple was willing to help out an Iowa Farm Boy with such a small order. Good merchandise - great timing - wonderful people. That is a win-win proposition.

Only having one lens cap for my camera has always made me a bit nervous as they can so easily be dropped (and are not always retrieveable) or lost. I do not like having my lens unprotected. This is an inexpensive way to have a back-up lens cap. I would have preferred that it had the control mechanism in the center of the cap instead of on the sides as it cannot be applied or removed while the lens hood is in place.

This is a fine product but DO NOT use if you have a lens hood attached. I without the center clip option it is very challenging to get on/off with a lens hood attached.

I bought the Bower 72mm lens cap to replace the one I dropped and it fits perfectly. If you are looking for an inexpensive quality lens cap Bower lens cap's are great.

When I bought it I realised its the one of the cheapest ones avaialble. The plastic is absolutely non fancy and the snap on wasnt tight at all. It came off quite easily. My idea was to get a lens cap string (you connect it to cap and camera) in order not to loose the cap. But I lost the cap (within 3 days) before I could get the string! So if you buy this cap, make sure you get the cap string [...] too.

Out of the last dozen times we've taken our lens out of the case, we discover that the lens cap has fallen off. Whether this is happening as we pick up the lens or if it's loosened & fallen off sometime before that, we cannot tell.

I bought this to replace one of the original Nikon lens cap that I lost. The cap fits and works great as a lens cap, but if you have the lens hood installed you can't remove it or put it on without removing the cap. The edges of the cap that you squeeze to lock it to the lens extend out beyond the cap, it does not allow clearance for the lens hood. This may not be a big deal to some people. I just have a habit of placing or taking off my hood while the lens is protected by the cap, and this cap does not allow you to do that.

Seems fine, a basic plastic part. Only complaint is that it cannot seem to stay locked on the lens. It keeps popping off in the bag.To be fair, I am not sure if the issue is with the cap or with the filter on the lens.[...]
