Have you ever wished that your lens could focus closer than it does? Imagine that you could put a magnifying glass in front of your camera's lens. Close-up lenses are the simplest and least expensive method of achieving close-up photography. B&W close-up lenses are high-quality optical magnifying lenses which shorten the close-focusing capability of your lens. They are available in different "powers" (diopters). A +1 close-up lens will allow you to focus your lens somewhat closer than it already does. A +2 close-up lens will allow you to focus closer than the +1. A +4 lens will allow you to focus even closer than a +2, and so on. These lenses can be used individually or in any combination to achieve ultra-close focus. For example, a +1 combined with a +2 will equal a +3, while a +2 combined with a +4 will equal a +6, etc. The maximum magnification achieved with these attachments will depend on the focal length of your lens as well as the actual close focusing capability of that particular lens. The B&W Macro Close-up Lens, by itself, offers the strongest diopter of +10. When attached to a standard 50mm lens (in 35mm), half lifesize to somewhat larger reproductions are possible.NOTE: The NL10 Close-up lens IS NOT front threaded and is not meant to be used in combination with other close-up lenses.
B&W DIOPTER CHART

NL1 = +1 diopter with a focal length of 1000mm
NL2 = +2 diopter with a focal length of 500mm
NL3 = +3 diopter with a focal length of 333mm
NL4 = +4 diopter with a focal length of 250mm
NL5 = +5 diopter with a focal length of 200mm
NL10 = +10 diopter with a focal length of 100mm
