The Zing Large SLR Action Cover (Black) is a one-piece, wrap-around neoprene cover that stretches over the lens and self-secures without buckles, snaps or zippers. The case has a removable elastic waist strap. When used in conjunction with the photographer's own camera neck strap, the waist strap holds the camera tight to the body. Camera can be removed from cover for shooting without having to unfasten the waist strap.

The cover protects the camera from scratches and bumps as I prefer to carry the camera in my regular handbags (saves me the hassle from hunting for camera bag to match my clothes - a great plus point for me)
As the cover only allow room for a small lens (max 8cm in length), you may want to consider the cover for long lens instead if you often alternate between a long and short lens during a single trip or face the hassle of changing the lens so it'll fit into the smaller cover.

I like this for hiking with my Nikon D70 and small lenses. It was especially useful to keep my camera accessable while backpacking. It has worked exactly as advertized. There are two things to be aware of, however.First, having the camera closely attached to your mid-section creates a sweat band which, of course, dripped onto my camera. Second, I lost the elastic strap that goes around and behind by back. I have tried extensively but cannot find the exact same sized clips Zing uses to be able to rig-up a new, replacement elastic strap. So now, for want of [$] clip, i cannot have the original functionality i wanted when i bought this thing. A bit of a disapointment.

Comments about Zing Designs Large SLR Action Cover:
Pros: Lightweight, durable stitching, great for light protection and grab and go activities like walking, hiking or a scenic drive when you don't want the burden of carrying a large bag or digging into a larger bag. Nice snug fit.
Great fit for my Pentax KR with a DA* 1.4 limited, would also fit the Nikon D3100 or other simular Large SLR's.
Cons: Not quite as quick on the draw when used as shown. The intended way of putting the camera in the cover, is to first put the lens in and then wrap the remainder of the cover around the body. However I have found that if you put the body in first then pull the cover over the lens, all one has to do is pull the lens cover down to take the shot. This simple remedy makes the cover much improved. i would like to see a similar cover with a screw in attachment on the bottom.
Overall outstanding cover for the cost. Nice light protection with easy accessibility.

THe quality and design are great, but the sizing is way off. It would not begin to fit my Canon 5D and either lens under 4 inches as described.
I will try to exchange for another zing case. I think they need to redesign for todays digital cameras.

Fits tightly (but well) on a D7000 with 35mm f/2 lens.

After my fruitless search to find a camera bag that both protected my new camera and simultaneously did not look like your typical LOOK HERE EXPENSIVE CAMERA INSIDE camera case, I stumbled upon this gem.
I had some concerns before purchasing based on other reviews that this cover would not fit a DSLR. I am happy to report the cover is a no-frills design that cleanly and securely protects my Canon XSi.
Although there is not a ton of padding, this cover is an excellent choice for someone needing protection from bumps and scratches, but willing to forgo a cumbersome camera bag.

Comments about Zing Designs Large SLR Action Cover:
First it barely fits my D90, then just having the waist strap didn't seem supportive enough for me so I also got a binocular/camera shoulder harness to use with it. Combining the two there is very little motion when hiking but yet good accessibilty when wanting to use. But wouldn't recommend by itself.

Comments about Zing Designs Large SLR Action Cover:
I just purchased this Zing Large action cover to go with my Canon 7d and Sigma 18-250 lens. The Details say it will fit a Large SLR and a Lens up to 4in in length or 101mm, what it should state is it fits a combined Camera and lens of 101mm, I couldn't get this to fit no matter how much I pulled , tugged and yanked it was so tight trying to get it over the lens cap I though for sure I might break something so I gave up. It is not made for Large SLR but more for Xti size SLR and a small lens. In the end I give it 4 stars not because it was a great fit but because it would be great if it was correctly labeled, so i would recommend it in the correct size perhaps size up for the best fit

I love these on crop cameras. Great for hiking and keeping the camera close and from swinging around. Also useful if you like to use a regular backpack rather than a dedicated camera pack.Clips are available online and at places like [...]. An alternative is not to lose the strap. Would you fault a lens cap because it's not attached?!?

This fits the camera well (Nikon D-80 with a compact 28-300 lens), but is difficult to put on and off- definitely not a quick process. And since it is not a quick process this item is not as useful as I had hoped (though that is more a defect in my thinking than in the item itself). I mostly use it to protect the camera when I do not want to carry my camera bag.
