Comments about Porta Brace AH-2M Padded Audio Harness with Belt:
I run location audio for TV on an on again, off again basis, so I can't invest at this time on the pricier harness I would like. That said, I find that this simple harness makes quite a difference in comfort compared to a neck strap. On a recent shoot at the beach where I needed to wear my mixer and recorder for hours at a stretch, I found that this really saved my back. It's definately worth the investment.
My only complaint is that the clips that attach to the mixer could be a bit longer in reach, and it would be great if they could be "set" at a specific location on the harness instead of moving freely up and down the strap... the back section of the brace tends to start riding up, making it start to become more and more like a neck harness as the day wears on. It's easy enough to readjust, but even so...

Comments about Porta Brace AH-2M Padded Audio Harness with Belt:
The harness is the only way to carry sound recording and mixing equipment on location in a position where all the controls and meters are both easily visible and cannot be altered inadvertently by clothing or movement of an arm. Also it is easy to unhook yourself from the harness, yet be ready to hook up again quickly. Takes the strain off the back and allows fast walking with the equipment. The belt for the waist is unnecessary as the weight of the equipment keeps it in place. Only necessary if working under very rugged circumstances.

Comments about Porta Brace AH-2M Padded Audio Harness with Belt:
I use the harness to hold up my PortaBrace MXC-302 (with a SD 302 Mixer) which is ganged to a PortaBrace AR-7 (SD 744T) which is also attached to a RM-Multi Case.
This harness wonderfully distributes the load between my shoulders, instead of over my neck or just one shoulder like the supplied leather strap does.
Without the harness, my shoulders ache after recording for more than a few hours, but I can go all day and not have to visit the physio with this great piece of gear.
The only criticism I have is with the supplied belt and mounting system - once you're wearing it, YOU'RE WEARING IT. To take the gear off your body, both metal clips have to be undone, and then the harness has to slip off rather awkwardly, leaving you still wearing the belt. it's rather difficult to leave the belt connected and just assume you can "step into" the rig, but if you're wearing it for long periods and not taking it off, it's wonderful, and actually makes the load seem lighter.
GREAT for 1-man sound teams who need both arms over their head for the boom.
