Comments about Porta-Trace / Gagne 16 x 18" Light Box:
I wanted this lightbox for general purpose reviewing of my 35mm negatives and transparencies using a loupe but also for copy stand work to generate digital "contact sheets" from processed rolls of film. For the latter it helps to have even illumination so I went with the 4 bulb version of the 16 x 18 table and I'm glad that I did. It is pricier than the 2 bulb version but it is very bright and I detect little by way of uneven illumination when imaging ~8.5x11 size archival film/transparency storage sheets. Build quality appears excellent, handle is very convenient and I like the slim profile. Don't think I'll use the built in wire stand much but it certainly doesn't get in the way - and who knows, if I ever use for tracing it would be nice to work at an angle.
