It is such a pleasure to use. Having relatively round shoulders, it is sometimes frustrating to carry a shoulder bag as it keeps trying to sliding off my shoulder. Also, weight of gear can really hurt your shoulder after walking around town for a few hours. None of that.

I use this with LowePro Classified 250AW, with SLR, 3 standard sized lenses, flash, folding umbrella, and a water bottle in it, and it feels as if I was carrying a third of it. The padding is wide and well cushioned so the weight seems to be distributed evenly, compared to 'normal' straps that seems to focus all the weight in one part of your shoulder.

The strap has the wide and thick soft form pad area in the middle, which is easy on your hand as you lift the bag up from the ground, it gently stretches as you land it on your shoulder so it settles nicely along the curve of your shoulder. There's enough adjustment on both ends, so I can set it to just the right length to fit it across my body from one shoulder to the other side waist for easy walk, while swinging around to the front to switch equipment.

After using for a few weeks I haven't yet found any problems/issues. I'm curious to see how durable the soft form part after years of use. But given the low price, I would be happy to replace with a new one if it should lose its initial gentleness after tough uses.

This strap appears to be well made here in the USA. I ordered it to carry a Red Oxx
Carry on bag. The strap that came with my bag tended to dig into my shoulder. This one is much more comfortable.
The only reason that I am not giving it more stars is due to the small size of the metal latches. They were too small to go on the metal rings of the bag. I have several different straps with various pieces of luggage and they all fit the rings on the Red Oxx bag with the exception of this one. I had to grind the ends of the latches down with a Drexel tool in order to make it fit.

I bought this strap to replace the strap on my shoulder bag. It is wider than the original strap and has some give in it to make it really comfortable to carry with a heavy load. Overall it is a great strap and the price is very reasonable. I have other Op-Tek products and have been pleased with every one.

Very comfortable and the non-slip backside is really great. The material is a little steatchable to fit the shoulder, not too much like rubber. I have been using other shoulder strap that has air-cushion pad a little long time but this one is far better. The length is ok for me (I'm 5' 10" tall ). I guess some tall people feel it is a little too short. Anyway it is very good strap.

Even though mine isn't a heavy-weight bag I wanted something that would take some of the stress off my arthritic shoulder. This strap filled the bill. Being wider, made of neoprene and they're "internal stretch system" made carrying my bag for hours much more comfortable. Another plus is that it's a little longer than my old strap so when I wear it across my body it rides a little lower on my hip.

                  Comments about S.O.S. Strap (Black):

For years I struggled with straps on my camera and laptop bags as constantly slipping of my shoulder and pressing so much you get sore after a while. I bought this as a replacement for my new camera bag which had an ugly strap. Coincidently I've firstly tried it with my everyday commuting and heavy laptop bag. From the first moment there was the "WOW" effect. The strap doesn't slip at all (wrongly assuming all my life I had badly built shoulders), and even more the strap makes your heavy bag so light you don't even feel it it's there. The effect is like a professional camera weight distribution stabiliser, or driving a Mercedes with a superb suspension on Continental tyres. The heavy bag just floats beside your body, thanks to the soft and the elastic material, gently going up and down (I'm talking millimetres here), enough to spread the load instead of digging deep in your shoulder. I was taken straight to my old school days and my Physics lessons. Think of the Newton's Third Law. The support upward force (by the the S.O.S. Strap by Op/Tech ) is an 'equal and opposite' force to the downward gravity and the bag's pulling force, trying to balance all the forces and keep the object at rest. With normal strap every time the bag pulls down (when you walk) an additional force is applied to your sore shoulder, but with this innovative strap this force is compensated. I'm buying three more of these straps to replace all of my household straps. Did I say, it also looks very attractive and modern. Plain black color but looks professional and muscular on your shoulder with its wide and long elastic cushion with a smart zigzag stitching.

                  Comments about S.O.S. Strap (Black):

I travel a lot and have used the straps that came with my Lowepro and Kata camera bags. I carry a DLSR and lenses in the Lowepro and a Canon XHA1 with gear in the Kata bag.

The Kata strap had plastic clips that broke on a flight wiithin a few weeks. I used my Lowepro strap on whichever bag I was using at the time. Each bag probably weighs 30-40 pounds when packed for a shoot.

Both straps were always digging into my shoulder hard enough to leave visible marks on my shoulders. When you are carrying a bag through an airport or through the streets a long time, it's rough and I was also getting a lot of back pain too.

On a shoot in New York, I had the opportunity to go to B&H and try out some new straps. I bought the Op/Tech because it felt so comfortable. It was like having a shock absorber on my shoulder! I'm buying another one for my Lowepro bag!

                  It is beyond comfortable!!!

I bought a few month ago (Also here in B&H)a camera shoulder bag Kata DC-445.
This bag is just perfect for me however, even the shoulder strap is pretty good, this little bag can carry a lot and at the end of the day I got some "pain".
Also, it's a bit "slippery" and I need to re-adjust the bag on my shoulder really often.
After numbers research, I found this strap and finally decide to order it.
This strap is really well build and finished.
It's definitely a huge improvement in term of comfort.
It absorb the shock when walking and doesn't slip anymore from my shoulder.

I recommend this product to any shoulder bag (even for laptop) for who has to carry it the entire day.

I have a pretty heavy (20lbs) bag that has both a waist belt and provision for a shoulder strap. To test this strap out, I purposely loaded the bag down with a ton of stuff and went without the waist belt.

At the end of the day, I was very glad that I had gotten this strap. It's comfortable all day, without being "bouncy" like some neoprene-padded straps can be.

Nice and comfortable on the shoulder. Might be even better if it was not quite so flexible and had a little bit of a natural tendency to lie flat, but a vast improvement over the strap that came with my bag and has no problem supporting all the weight I have put in my bag.

This strap replaced one on a ThinkTank Urban Disguise 50 shoulder bag (14 pounds). Really makes all the difference. It no longer slips off instantly, it is now very comfortable, and it even seems lighter. From Ugh to Wow!

Wow, I finally got to put this strap to the test. Lugged it up, down and around Lassen Park and felt absolutely no shoulder pain. That has never happened with any previous strap. (I broke my collarbone when I was young). This is definitely the strap to buy. Look no further.

I usually lug around a laptop computer when in NY to download and work on photos and needed a comfortable strap replacement. This strap was so comfortable I went back to B&H and bought another one before my return to FL.
These straps are the best. The high density foam evenly distributed the weight over my shoulder, what a bonus!
Highly recommended and I'll buy another one just for a secondary back up for whatever other cases I may be carrying. Well worth the price!

                                            Comments about S.O.S. Strap (Black):

But given the low price, I would be happy to replace with a new one if it should lose its initial gentleness after tough uses.

the strap that came with my camera bag let go on me. it was cheap. c'est la vie. I bought this as a replacement. It feels much more substantial (thicker material) and is much more comfortable. metal clasps a big plus. only negative is that the adjustment buckles to shorten or lengthen the strap are plastic as opposed to metal but they probably hold better than metal. excellent choice for the price
