The B+W 39mm UV Haze SC 010 Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.
The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.
B+W filters are constructed from high quality Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. They feature a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Although all modern lenses have coatings to handle UV light and modern films respond well to various wavelengths of light, I purchased this filter to leave on my 35mm Ultron 1.7 as full time protection from my fumbling fingers and unexpected accidents. The price seemed a reasonable expense to protect a $400 lens. I have always used B+W contrast filters for my SLR when shooting black and white film and the quality is top notch.

I bought this 39mm filter to use on my Nikon 300mm F2.8 and Nikon 500mm F4 lenses which use a drp[-in filter tray utilizing the 39mm filters. This filter will NOT fit the Nikon filter trays and B&H will charge you to return it. While it may well be a good filter I would not recommend you buy it as it WILL NOT fit its intended application.

This is a great choice for a simple, well built UV Filter. I used it with my summicron 50mm for my Leica and so far have been happy with it, no complains.

B+W 39mm filters are the best for Bessa/Voigtlander lenses. You can actually fit the Bessa-factory lens hoods back over them because of the smaller outside diameter & thickness of the ring.
