Comments about Photographers' Formulary Clothing Stain Remover - 8 oz:

Cautiously adding one drop at a time to the affected area (so as not to discolor other parts of the fabric, as it might), a stain from developer will fade given some time. It does work, but don't expect magic, and use on dark colored items at your own risk. The pungent smell mentioned by some is noticeable in very close proximity but is not disruptive to any significant extent.

Comments about Photographers' Formulary Clothing Stain Remover - 8 oz:

I had clothing with month-old developer/fixer stains. After squirting some stain remover on the stains, they disappeared within 10 seconds. The color of the clothes was not affected. The only disadvantage is the persistent smell of the thiourea in the stain remover, which remains even after washing the clothes. Hopefully, the smell will go away with time.

I had some old fixer with that some crystals in it. I got some of the crystals on a shirt without knowing it then washed the shirt and had weird burn like marks on the shirt. I didn't expect this to be able to remove the marks and it didn't. It did remove the colour from the shirt though i.e. it bleached the shirt. The shirt was a 100% cotton shirt from Mexx (i.e. low quality). I had the same stain on a nice shirt and the stain remains, but the solution didn't harm the shirt at all.

Overall, didn't work, 4 wash cycles later my shirts still smell of thiurea, and it bleached 1 of my shirts. I would not recommend it for removing the stains from old fixer. It may work on stains from new fixer, but requires A LOT of washing to get rid of the smell.

This stain remover instantly removed a quarter sized developer stain that was THREE years old! I had tried washing the cotton blouse several times, stain removers, etc. with no luck. For some reason I kept the shirt hoping I'd find something that worked and now I'm glad I did! Smells a little stinky but worked in seconds, and then I rinsed with water until I could get it into a load of wash. Blouse is like new again!

So far, this has proven to work well. Repeated applications may be needed on some fabrics, and testing in a discrete area is recommended. Pay no attention to the "aroma" of the product!

This product is great. I had ruined my favorite white hoodie in the dark room and tried washing it, bleaching it, oxycleaning it with no success. I put the stain remover on and let it sit for about 20 minutes and the stains were gone!
