The JBL Control SB-2 Subwoofer helps smooth out musical definition and clarity by offering a unique slot-load design which provides low-pass filtering for improved bass and high-pass filtering for satellite speakers. High-pass filtering for satellite speakers eliminates the need for the speakers to reproduce lower frequencies thereby eliminating "muddiness" and making them clearer and more efficient.

This is a good passive sub for it's intended application with fairly smooth response. The crossover frequency can be a little high in some applications and can require a bit of EQ. I highly recommend the optional mounting bracket.
